Magna Legal Services, is seeking a Medical Canvass Investigator to join our investigations team. This remote role supports litigation efforts by identifying medical facilities where individuals involved in lawsuits may have received treatment. The information gathered is critical to our clients and their legal cases.

This position involves extensive cold calling, establishing a strong phone presence, follow-up communication, persistence, and professionalism. Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and comfort working both independently and as part of a team. Reliability, punctuality, and excellent communication skills are essential. 

We are open to training candidates in medical canvassing, especially those with experience in call centers or high-volume phone work. The ideal candidate is resourceful, proactive, and capable of thinking outside the box to locate hard-to-find information, often asking, “What other method or avenue can I explore?”

This role offers opportunities for growth and the potential to work toward obtaining a California Private Investigator’s license under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Please note: This role may involve reviewing sensitive or graphic materials—including photos, reports, and videos—as we frequently collaborate with law enforcement agencies. Candidates should be comfortable handling emotionally challenging content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking inbound and outbound calls at large volumes from various businesses, primarily medical offices, including cold calls
  • Researching facilities using provided resources
  • Composing emails to send to our clients
  • General data entry, updating files
  • Working as a team to coordinate efforts to complete projects within tight deadlines


Qualifications:
  • An associate’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of general clerical work experience in an office setting is strongly preferred, and preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience to include heavy phone calling responsibilities (i.e., working in a call center, as a receptionist, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • The ability to type at least 50 wpm and strong note taking skills.
  • Knowledge of the varying types of medical facilities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), preferred.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to communicate effectively on the phone, while typing notes
  • Flexible schedule. Most of the team works 8-4:30~on PST hours, but will sometimes need to shift to CST or EST hours to accommodate for where the cases are taking place at that particular time.

Compensation: $19.00 - $24.00 USD per hour.


An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
