In this full-time, permanent role, you'll join our Media team to advance children's rights by delivering strategic media engagement, compelling campaigns and high-impact storytelling that raise the profile of our work and influence social change across Australia and beyond.

 

You will make a difference by:

  • Developing and delivering media strategies and campaigns that drive awareness, influence policy and advance children's rights.
  • Creating compelling content and securing high-profile coverage across traditional and digital media channels.
  • Building strong relationships with journalists and media stakeholders to position Save the Children as a trusted voice.
  • Supporting spokespersons with media coaching, messaging and interview preparation.
  • Championing child safeguarding, youth participation and ethical engagement across all communications activities.

This role requires:

  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into compelling content.
  • Proven success in media relations, story pitching and securing coverage across traditional and digital channels.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian media landscape and a passion for children's rights and advocacy.
  • Creativity, resilience and adaptability, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant media or communications experience, a commitment to child safeguarding, and a collaborative, values-driven approach.
