Job Overview
One of our clients is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MD Order Processing Representative to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with physicians' offices to obtain signatures on required medical orders for patients in need of homecare services. You will ensure all documentation is completed accurately, processed promptly, and maintained in compliance with company standards.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent communication and follow-up skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact physicians' offices via phone, fax, or email to request and follow up on outstanding medical orders.
- Ensure all required physician signatures are obtained accurately and within established timelines.
- Process approximately 45 signed medical orders per week.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications, follow-up attempts, and completed documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely processing and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Identify and resolve documentation issues by communicating with physicians' offices and internal stakeholders.
- Prioritize workload to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient confidentiality and documentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical office support, order processing, or a related healthcare role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong follow-up, organizational, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable making outbound calls to physicians' offices and building professional relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a professional home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physician order workflows.
- Experience coordinating with healthcare providers, clinics, or home health agencies.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare documentation standards.
