Overview:
WiredPeople is seeking a dedicated and analytical Maternal Mortality Review Coordinator to collaborate with our virtual Florida-based initiatives, directly supporting critical public health programs. In this role, you will play a critical part in evaluating maternal healthcare delivery, analyzing social determinants of health, and developing standardized interview protocols for our clinical review teams.

This is a part-time, fully remote position (up to 20 hours per week), with hours fluctuating based on quarterly case volume. Please Note: Active residency in the State of Florida and a Master's Degree in Social Work is Strictly required. Having a social work licensure/certification in the State of Florida is preferred, but not required. 


Core Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Case Review: Conduct comprehensive quarterly evaluations of maternal mortality cases to identify systemic biases and assess how social determinants of health impacted patient outcomes.

  • Narrative Synthesis: Collaborate closely with Records Analysts and Project Coordinators to translate clinical findings into structured, impactful case narratives for quarterly leadership reviews.

  • Protocol Development: Finalize and integrate the informant interview toolkit—including outreach letters, standardized scripts, and interview frameworks—into the program's official procedural guidelines.

  • Team Training & Coaching: Design, record, and deploy a comprehensive training curriculum (via Microsoft Teams) to instruct Records Analysts on conducting sensitive informant interviews. Continuously refine these modules based on analyst feedback.

  • Qualitative Research & Analysis: Partner with program administrators and data analysts to evaluate historical Florida case data, utilizing qualitative methods to pinpoint patterns of bias in healthcare delivery.

  • Resource Creation: Author executive summary reports and design visual reference guides to help clinical abstractors accurately identify bias in medical records.

  • Interview Execution & Data Management: Provide direct, hands-on support to the analyst team during quarterly informant interviews, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into program systems.

  • Continuous Learning: Actively participate in all recommended and required programmatic training sessions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Licensure: Must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) OR be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) currently licensed and residing in the State of Florida.

  • Clinical Experience: A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in obstetrics, antenatal, or postpartum care. Note: Specialized experience in bereavement counseling will be strongly considered in lieu of direct perinatal experience.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep, working knowledge of the Social Determinants of Health and their specific impacts on maternal outcomes.

  • Counseling Skills: Proven background in family support, peer counseling, and sensitive community outreach.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy, including seamless navigation of remote collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams) and clinical data entry systems.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional professional communication and writing abilities, with a proven track record of thriving in a highly collaborative, remote team environment.
