TITLE: MARKETING SPECIALIST
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Marketing Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive market research and analysis to support business development, sales strategy, and supply chain operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, statistics, economics, finance, communications, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic data analysis.
- Understanding of statistics and how to interpret trends, customer behavior, and campaign performance.
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to collect and interpret data.
- Identify market trends and consumer preferences.
- Measure return on investment (ROI) for marketing campaigns.
- Present findings clearly to managers and leadership teams.
- Experience
- Mid-level positions often require 2–5 years of experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, or digital marketing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and forecast sales trends for specific commodities and programs;
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and sales strategies;
- Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, including customer surveys, market studies, and industry reports;
- Gather customer requirements, preferences, specifications, testing and delivery, and purchasing trends to assess customer needs, buying habits, and issues, identifying potential markets and factors which may affect product demand;
- Collect data on pricing, inventory, and marketing trends related to vendors and suppliers, and assess pricing strategies;
- Gather data on competitors and analyze their pricing, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution;
- Analyze inventory and sales data using enterprise database systems, CRM platforms, supply chain management tools, business intelligence software, Excel, and other related statistical software;
- Convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports for sales team, managers, and executive team review;
- Collaborate with sales, operations, product management, and other internal departments to effectively identify and resolve market-related challenges and support cross-functional business objectives; and
- Attend business meetings to provide management with information and proposals concerning the promotion, prioritization, and distribution of products or services based on current supply chain and market trends.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
