Chinese Marketing Intern (Worldwide, Remote)
This role is a Part-Time paid internship. 


The impact you will make:

Join The Intern Group as a Marketing Intern and gain hands-on experience in digital marketing for an HR Ed-Tech company. As a Chinese Marketing Intern, you will play an integral role within our Marketing team, helping to shape and execute our strategy for reaching and engaging Chinese-speaking audiences - particularly in mainland China. Your efforts will directly contribute to increasing qualified applications, driving website traffic, and generating revenue.

In this multifaceted role, you'll serve as a creative content producer, crafting compelling and culturally relevant website copy and social media content that resonates with prospective applicants. You'll also bring an analytical mindset, continuously evaluating the performance of your content to optimize engagement and reach. A strong understanding of Chinese digital platforms - including Xiaohongshu, WeChat, and Douyin - will be essential to ensure discoverability and meaningful interaction with our brand.

In addition to content creation, you will support the development and management of relationships with educational agencies across mainland China. This will include assisting with outreach efforts, coordinating communications, and helping to maintain strong, collaborative partnerships that expand our recruitment pipeline.

Throughout the internship, you'll receive mentorship from our Head of Marketing. This is a valuable opportunity to build your skills whilst gaining real-world marketing experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.


Your success will be measured by key metrics such as the number of applications and deposits received from nationals of mainland China, and engagement rates on our social channels.



You’re excited about working here because you’ll:

  • Receiving Mentoring from the Head of Marketing & Social Media Manger, gaining practical experience in content strategy, digital campaigns, and international marketing
  • Grow Qualified Applications: Grow qualified applications from mainland China, directly contributing to revenue growth.
  • Manage Chinese Social Media Platforms: Manage our presence on Chinese social media platforms (Xiaohongshu, WeChat, Douyin) in collaboration with our Social Media Lead.
  • Create and Schedule Content: Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across these platforms to enhance brand awareness, community engagement, and customer acquisition.
  • Write Compelling Website Copy: Write, proofread, and edit compelling Chinese website copy optimized for SEO to drive organic traffic.
  • Support Marketing Email Campaigns: Support the design and execution of marketing emails in Chinese, collaborating with our in-house graphic designer to ensure visual alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Monitor Performance Metrics: Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics across social channels to inform strategic decisions and content optimization.
  • Build Agency Relationships: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with educational agencies in mainland China by helping coordinate partnership activities and translating/preparing marketing/sales content.
  • Take on Additional Duties: Other duties as assigned to help you grow your marketing abilities and enhance our overall brand presence.

  • Native Language Proficiency: Native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written); Cantonese fluency is a plus but not essential.
  • Fluent English Skills: Fluent English language skills (spoken and written).
  • Excellent Writing Skills: Excellent written skills & attention to detail.
  • Platform Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience using Chinese social media platforms including Xiaohongshu, WeChat, and Douyin.
  • Creative Excellence: High levels of creativity and the ability to develop top-quality, engaging & inspirational content.
  • Camera Confidence: Confident in front of a camera and filming trends.
  • Tech Skills (Preferred): Basic understanding of content management systems (e.g. Hubspot) and data tracking tools (e.g. Google Analytics) is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous Experience (Preferred): Previous marketing, communications, or content creation experience is valuable but not essential.

  • Home office space, as we are a remote-first company
