Hi there :)

Thanks for checking in to find out about our open position. We´ll provide as much information as possible, but please feel free to reach us if you have further questions. We´ll be happy to see your application, even if there are skills you don't quite master!

About Us

South Geeks is a strategic partner to US companies in wealth and health. We place senior Latin American engineers directly into client teams, and deliver complete projects to our clients.

We are a small leadership team running an AI-native operation. Our marketing engine already exists and it works. We need someone to own it and iterate on it, not build it from zero.

Why This Is Important to Us

We are at a growth stage where how we show up matters as much as what we deliver. We run AI-native and we expect our marketing function to work the same way: fast, iterative, and built on tools that compound rather than tools that just execute tasks.

This role sits close to leadership because marketing and communications directly shape how clients, candidates and partners perceive South Geeks. Every piece of content, every press mention, every LinkedIn post is part of how we build the relationships this business runs on.

About the Role

This is a full marketing and communications function inside a 10-hour week. It works because the cadences are defined, not because the scope is small. You will know exactly what runs weekly, monthly and quarterly from your first week.

Reports to: Julia Duran, CEO
Location: Remote, Latin America, overlap with US Eastern business hours
Start: October 2026

Key Responsibilities

Content engine (roughly 45%)

  • Run the monthly content cycle end to end

  • Bring real editorial judgment to every draft

  • Curate the weekly newsletter digest from our external subscriptions into a working idea pipeline

  • Produce the company blog and LinkedIn articles: research, source, structure, draft

Press, awards and events (roughly 20%)

  • Own press pitching, twice a month minimum

  • Own the awards pipeline: research, shortlist, write and submit. One submission a month

  • Triage events. Recommend what we attend and what we skip, prepare speaker pitches and CFP submissions, write the recaps after the ones we attend

  • Draft holiday and milestone client communications

GEO, web and collateral (roughly 20%)

  • Own GEO. Implement the audit findings, then keep our presence current for AI-driven discovery. This is a real part of the job, not a side task

  • Make ongoing website updates

  • Keep pitch decks, one-pagers and client-facing collateral current against the brand kit

Performance and process (roughly 15%)

  • Report monthly to leadership on what worked, what did not and what changes next

  • Improve the workflows and AI prompts behind the content system. We expect this role to get faster over time because you make it faster

What You Need to Succeed in This Role

  • 3+ years in B2B marketing or communications, technology preferred

  • Near-native written English. You will write for a US audience daily and it has to read like one of them wrote it

  • Real editorial skill. You can take an adequate draft, make it good, then explain why it is better

  • LinkedIn as a professional channel, not a personal one. Company page strategy, post performance, what actually moves engagement

  • Actual use of it as your production system

  • Self-direction. Nobody is going to build your week for you

What Will Set You Apart

  • Fintech, wealth tech or health tech exposure

  • Media relations or PR experience, especially pitching

  • Awards submissions or event speaker pitching

  • SEO or GEO working knowledge

  • Our full stack: Claude Cowork, LinkedIn, Buffer, ClickUp, HubSpot, Google Workspace and Slack

Our Team

We are lean, senior and high-quality, with strong operational infrastructure already in place. We strive to create an inspiring and growth-oriented environment where everyone feels valued, heard and empowered.

What We Offer

  • 100% remote work

  • Competitive payment in USD

Please note: this role accepts LATAM-based applicants only
