Manager, Valuation Expert

The opportunity

Reporting to the Director, we are hiring a Manager, Valuation Expert to lead a team responsible for delivering complex institutional commercial real estate valuation engagements. As our new Manager, Valuation Expert, you will combine deep valuation expertise with people leadership and operational oversight, guiding your team while managing delivery across multiple concurrent engagements. You will be accountable for the quality, consistency, and timeliness of valuation work, strengthening collaboration across onshore and offshore teams, and driving the adoption of standardized processes, technology, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen delivery and the client experience.

This is a remote role based in the United States, with flexibility across time zones and travel approximately once per quarter to connect with teams in person.

You will help strengthen standards and processes, advance technology adoption, identify operational efficiencies, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the valuation delivery model.

You will:

• Lead and develop your team. You will provide day-to-day leadership to a team of valuation professionals, managing capacity, workflow, and priorities while creating clear expectations for quality, productivity, collaboration, and timeliness. You will coach and develop team members through ongoing feedback, training, performance management, and career development.
• Own delivery. You will oversee multiple concurrent valuation engagements, ensuring work progresses against milestones and deliverables meet established quality and service standards. You will anticipate risks, resolve issues, balance resources, and maintain visibility across your portfolio to keep work moving forward.
• Ensure valuation quality. You will apply your institutional commercial real estate valuation expertise to review work, guide your team, and maintain the accuracy and credibility of deliverables. You will be actively involved in the Valuation Management System (VMS) process, structured internal reviews, and the application of approved assumptions.
• Build strong working relationships. You will serve as a key point of contact for Client Experts and work closely with clients, third-party appraisers, Market Experts, and other stakeholders throughout the delivery process. You will communicate proactively, maintain alignment, and help address issues that could affect timelines, quality, or the client experience.
• Strengthen how work gets done. You will drive the adoption of standardized processes and technology, including Argus Enterprise, while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality. You will monitor performance against key metrics and use those insights to strengthen workflows, service levels, and team performance.
• Coordinate across global teams. You will bring onshore and offshore resources together to support efficient, consistent delivery. You will strengthen collaboration with the Global Shared Center in India, helping clarify priorities, coordinate resources, and establish ways of working that enable teams to deliver effectively together.

You bring:

• The valuation expertise. You have deep experience in institutional commercial real estate valuation and can assess valuation work at a portfolio and engagement level, not just individual assignments. You understand the valuation process and can apply your expertise to review work, challenge assumptions, identify risks, and guide others toward accurate, credible outcomes.
• The technical skills. You are highly proficient with Argus Enterprise and Excel and can confidently use both to review valuation work, analyze information, and support your team. You are comfortable learning and adopting new technology and using it to improve the quality and efficiency of delivery.
• The leadership experience. You have experience leading, mentoring, or developing others and are ready to take accountability for team performance, capacity, priorities, and development. You know how to set clear expectations, provide constructive feedback, and create an environment where people can do their best work.
• The operational mindset. You can step back from individual assignments to see the bigger picture across multiple engagements, competing deadlines, resources, and performance measures. You are proactive about identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen consistency, and introduce more efficient ways of working.
• The communication and relationship-building skills. You can build trusted relationships across teams and with clients, third-party appraisers, and other stakeholders. You communicate clearly, stay organized across multiple priorities, and can navigate challenges while keeping people aligned and work moving forward.
• The flexibility. You are comfortable working with colleagues across locations and time zones and collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams. You are able to travel approximately once per quarter to connect with teams in person.

Compensation:

$115,000 - 130,000 USD

Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

What you can expect from our interview process:

• A 60-minute interview with two leaders from the Valuation Management team, focused on your institutional commercial real estate valuation expertise, leadership experience, and approach to managing quality and delivery across multiple engagements.
• A final 30-minute interview with the leader overseeing the North American delivery organization, focused on your experience, leadership approach, and alignment with the needs of the team.
