Manager - Software Engineering

The Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for developing and leading technical teams in the delivery of quality products in a timely manner. This role collaborates with other technical leaders to ensure a cohesive product suite, while fostering a high-performing team culture grounded in engineering excellence, security, and agility.

Your Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do

• Ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality results by collaborating with internal stakeholders to align the team with a prioritized backlog, contributing to technical solutions, and helping define user stories that reflect product vision.
• Lead a team in understanding, adhering to, and consistently implementing the software development lifecycle, proactively identifying and communicating potential roadblocks to the team and leadership.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on assistance while promoting a team culture with an emphasis on security, quality, and engineering agility — removing barriers to enable the team to be productive.
• Execute and continuously improve department processes, standards, and benchmarks; assess team and individual performance against established quality metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards.
• Manage and lead all people-related functions, including hiring, compensation management, employee relations, performance feedback, and coaching team members through their personal and professional growth.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex issues, providing guidance, resolving obstacles, and operating as a thought leader who contributes to the overall growth and quality of the department.

Role Essentials

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with four or more years in AI, plus prior software engineering experience and demonstrated people or technical leadership.
• Core knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data science concepts, with hands-on experience across relevant tools and frameworks.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other appropriate software development methodologies, paired with demonstrated fiscal responsibility and accountability in managing budgets.
• Excellent leadership, sound judgment, and business acumen, with a strong ability to establish rapport, build trust, and gain consensus across teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional demeanor and the ability to engage with discretion and tact across all levels of the organization.

• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with CI/CD principles and demonstrated experience with Microsoft operating systems and products, including Microsoft Outlook or equivalent tools.
• Strong facilitation, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging, informative, and compelling presentations using data analytics and presentation tools.
• Sharp, fast learner with strong technology curiosity and aptitude, passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing future technical leaders.

Pay Transparency

Poland: 27,500 – 30,000 PLN gross monthly on contract of employment (umowa o pracę)

Portugal: 66,077 – 72,219 EUR annually

The posted pay range represents the company’s good faith estimate for this role. Actual compensation may differ based on relevant experience, skills, education, and work.
