Manager, Program/Project II

Job Summary

Seeking a motivated self-starter with experience in the overall planning, direction, and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that have great significance to the Navy’s Submarine needs. Candidates will need experience being responsible for the overall program definition, organization, and direction of short and long-range plans. This includes the responsibility for formulating and guiding the technical approach; and providing consultation regarding defining and negotiation with activity and agency personnel for necessary resources. Establishment and control of technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs are also essential skills for this position.

Minimum Requirements

1. 5+ years of experience with Navy Program Management 
2. 2+ years of experience with Navy Engineering Support 
3. Ability to analyze and process engineering program documentation
4. Ability to assess and update spend plans
5. Ability to develop/document/implement new processes
6. Ability to analyze program risks and develop risk assessments 
7. Must be proactive, work independently, and within a team environment 
8. Active Secret Clearance
9. Ability to travel to support client (minimal, 1-3 times per year [Washington, DC, Manassas, VA, Newport, RI])

  1. Experience or familiarity with the BYG-1 submarine combat system

Nice to Have (not required)

1. NAVSEA and/or Team Submarine experience 
2. Experience working with various Navy Waterfront entities such as shipyards, installation teams, and regional maintenance facilities
3. Familiarity with installation and technology insertion hardware processes and practices
4. Experience working in Jira and familiarity with the Agile process 
5. Experience or familiarity with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS)

Ad Hoc Remote Delivery is permitted for this role; however, must be able to provide daily support during core business hours (Easter Standard Time) in the DC Metro area.
