2. Revenue Recognition (ASC 606)
- Contract Review: Review new and amended customer contracts under ASC 606 — including imagery, tasking, capacity, government, and multi-element arrangements — to identify performance obligations, transaction price (including variable consideration), allocation, and timing of revenue recognition.
- Revenue Memos: Draft revenue recognition memos for material and non-routine contracts and partner with Commercial, Legal, and Operations to flag accounting considerations early in the deal cycle.

Responsibilities include the preparation of quarterly footnote support, tie-outs to validate completeness and accuracy of all disclosures and Earnings Release materials and actively working with our auditors to support the financial audit processes.
- Disclosures: Draft and update footnote disclosures linked to technical accounting topics owned by this role (e.g., revenue recognition, share-based compensation, equity, and significant new transactions).
- Earnings Materials: Assist the team in reviewing earnings releases, earnings tables, and non-GAAP reconciliations for technical accounting accuracy and consistency with the filed financial statements.
- Tie-Outs & Workpapers: Prepare and review supporting schedules, tie-outs, and workpapers for SEC filings and technical accounting conclusions to an audit-ready standard.
4. SOX & Internal Controls
- Control Execution: Execute and help document internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) for technical accounting and reporting areas owned by this role, including revenue, equity, and non-routine transactions.
- Audit Support: Partner with internal SOX leader and external auditors on walkthroughs, testing, and timely remediation of any deficiencies in your areas of responsibility.
5. Cross-Functional Partnership & Audit
- Auditor Coordination: Work day-to-day with the company’s external auditors on technical accounting matters and your areas of the SEC filings; manage open items and respond to PBC requests in a timely, organized way.
- Cross-Functional Partner: Build strong working relationships with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Commercial, and Operations to ensure transactions are understood, captured, and reported in line with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
About You
- Technical Curiosity: You have a solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a genuine interest in technical accounting research — you enjoy digging into the standards, reading the guidance, and articulating your viewpoint on technical matters.
- ASC 606 Experience: You possess hands-on experience applying ASC 606 to customer contracts, ideally including multi-element or non-standard arrangements; comfortable working through performance obligations, variable consideration, and allocation.
- Public Company Mindset: You are comfortable operating under public company standards, including SOX controls, documentation discipline, and strict reporting deadlines.
- Growth Orientation: You are energized by the opportunity to stretch into new technical areas as the business evolves and you are receptive to coaching.
- Communication: You possess clear written and verbal communicator who can explain technical accounting concepts to non-accountants and partner effectively with Product, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.
