Minnesota Connections Academy (MNCA) is a tuition-free, online public charter school for students in grades K-12 throughout Minnesota. MNCA is a member of the Minnesota Transitions Charter School (MTCS), a K-12 academic community. MNCA is a state-approved online program operated through a contract with Connections Academy of Minnesota, LLC, to provide the educational program and other services. MNCA is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, an accrediting division of AdvancED.  MNCA also partners with Pearson Virtual Schools to enhance curriculum and instruction.

Responsibilities

The Manager of Interventions provides school-wide leadership in designing, implementing, and monitoring Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). This role oversees academic and behavioral intervention programs across elementary, middle, and high schools to ensure equitable outcomes, target student growth, and close achievement gaps:

  • Manage and evaluate a team of teachers: conduct regular one-on-one meetings, support professional development, manage time (ex. Paid-time off requests), collaborate with members of the school leadership team to drive school mission, vision and culture
  • Oversee the design, expansion and continuous improvement of MNCA’s K-12 intervention programs
  • Establish school-wide guidelines for Tier I (Universal), Tier 2 (Targeted), and Tier 3 (Intensive) academic and behavioral interventions
  • Develop protocols for evaluating student progress data to determine intervention effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned

Intervention Implementation and Support

  • Oversee all aspects of intervention at MNCA and operate under a model of continuous improvement
  • Evaluate, select, and manage evidence-based intervention curricula and digital platforms for reading, math, and behavior/SEL
  • Conduct regular observations to provide coaching, feedback, and technical assistance to school-based intervention specialists, teachers and special population educators
  • Design and deliver high-quality professional learning sessions for teachers, specialists, and intervention staff on research-based tier strategies
  • Regularly review school data to ensure students needing intervention are being identified and served through available supports; provide monthly data reports to the leadership team
  • Investigates possible areas for improvement with student outcomes, working with teachers on in-classroom tactics to ensure all students make adequate progress
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Active Minnesota Teaching or Leadership License
  • 3+ years past data and analytical experience preferred
  • High level Excel and data manipulation skills, technologically proficient with all Microsoft Office programs
  • Exceptional ability working with data is a must, including facility to translate data into information, then highlight insights and conclusions to provide business recommendations that can be acted upon
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work is essential
  • Curious, self-motivated, and ability to work independently as well as on a team
