Manager, Health Systems Collaboration

NASTAD is a leading non-partisan, non-profit association that represents public health officials who administer HIV and hepatitis programs in the U.S. Our mission is to advance the health and dignity of people living with and impacted by HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and intersecting epidemics by strengthening governmental public health systems and leveraging community partnerships. NASTAD represents public health officials in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, seven local jurisdictions, and the U.S. Pacific Island jurisdictions.  

Position Summary

This role presents an exciting opportunity to help NASTAD advance its vision of a world committed to ending HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and intersecting epidemics by supporting governmental public health systems coordination and innovation. The Manager will serve a central role in delivering technical assistance for our members, including local and state health departments, planning engagements across multiple jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include facilitating virtual learning opportunities, developing and disseminating high-impact resources, and fostering collaboration among public health and healthcare stakeholders. Serving as a subject matter expert in HIV systems coordination, including both medical and supportive services, the Manager will enhance coordination and collaboration across healthcare systems and community partners. This role will also ensure seamless project operations, including managing workplans, data tracking, coordinating internal and external communications, and supporting funder reporting.  

• Lead engagement with NASTAD’s members as well as state and local health departments, serving as the primary point of contact and providing technical assistance and subject matter expertise on systems coordination and stakeholder engagement. 

• Contribute to the design, planning, and facilitation of meetings and in person convenings related to health systems collaboration, including internal planning sessions and stakeholder meetings. 

• Develop agendas and coordinate logistics for meetings to support cross-functional collaboration and project planning. 

• Develop content and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including funders, partners, and public health peers via webinars, office hours, and other virtual learning opportunities. 

• Track activities and key performance metrics using project management tools. 

• Manage program workplans by monitoring project milestones, tracking progress of activities, sending timely alerts for upcoming start and end dates, providing reminders to responsible parties, and delivering regular updates on accomplishments and status to ensure activities remain on schedule and objectives are met. 

• Develop tools, templates, guides, and other practical resources to support jurisdictions. 

• Oversee the process of disseminating tools and materials to our stakeholders, leveraging technology platforms, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Expertise in governmental HIV programming  

• Strong project management skills 

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail 

• Tech-Savvy: ability to learn new software quickly  

• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills

Experience/Education 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the position’s duties. 

• At least 6 years of related work experience. 

• At least 4 years of experience working in governmental public health, particularly within ADAP, Ryan White and/or other HIV care and treatment programs. 

• Some experience coaching or providing TA to health department staff.

Environment and Scheduling

• Salary range – $72,000 - $80,000
• Full-time, 40 hours/week role.
• Willing to travel as needed, up to 40%
• Remote work is possible.
• Interest in working with a national HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis public health organization.
