Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced individual to act as the functional and implementation lead of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC) ERP solutions. This role will be responsible for planning and leading the end-to-end ERP system deployment. You will act as the bridge between the executives, developers, system integrators, technical teams and those managing implementation, testing, training and change management staff, to ensure a successful go-live. 

What you will do 

System Strategy & Implementation

  • ERP Leadership: Serve as a key stakeholder working with System Integrator and lead the implementation of finance modules, system connectors, and data migrations.
  • Strategic Roadmap: In conjunction with finance leaders and external vendors, design and recommend a Financial Systems Roadmap that aligns process improvements with overall business strategy, ensuring a clear transition from current-state manual workarounds to a future-state enterprise solution. Act as the project leader, champion, and key influencer in the execution of this roadmap
  • Technology Innovation: Evaluate and implement automation tools and emerging technologies, such as auto ingestion or generative AI for AP and expense management, to reduce manual effort and enhance functional finance workflows.
  • Process Improvement: Manage and modify existing processes to adopt to Microsoft Dynamics BC best practice and streamline order to cash process (a combination of revenue recording, time tracking and billing process)

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Testing Frameworks: In collaboration with System Integrator, act as NCC’s internal lead on the development and execution of comprehensive testing plans for all financial management systems, ensuring updates and new deployments meet rigorous finance standards.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve system bugs or functional gaps within existing financial management systems. 
  • Data Integrity: Work with Finance leadership to maintain a "one source of truth" for data record.
  • Process Mapping: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of data flows and processes to ensure technical solutions address Finance’s specific pain points.
  • Project Management: Manage and document business and system process making use of Microsoft Cloud based tool including Lifecycle Services and Azure DevOps

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • IT/Finance Liaison: Serve as the primary translator between Finance and IT Solutions, converting complex financial requirements into clear, documented business needs for technical implementation.
  • Change Management: Support the adoption of new processes through clear documentation and training, ensuring finance and business partners are equipped to utilize system improvements effectively.
  • Training: Train key users on core job functions as required

What you bring to the role

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. PMP and/or CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role; including experience with Financial Systems, Business Analysis, and/or ERP systems/implementation.
  • Direct implementation experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365/ Business Central ERPs 
  • Minimum of two Microsoft D365 Business Central certifications
  • Complex Delivery experience
  • The "Liaison" Skillset: Ability to explain complex technical constraints to an Accountant/Financial Analyst and complex financial workflows to a Systems Administrator.
  • A self-starter who can manage multiple, parallel projects and is excited about bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and practical financial applications.
  • An innovator who uses a proactive approach to leveraging AI and automation to solve complex financial problems and modernize workflows.
  • Entrepreneurial and open to identifying and implementing traditional and non-traditional solutions for finance challenges. 
  • Improvement-focused and comfortable challenging existing manual processes to drive efficiency.
  • Highly curious about emerging technology while possessing the discipline to ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and compliant.
  • Prior experience in not-for-profit, charitable organisations or higher education would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada as required
