JOB SUMMARY

Using their essential experience within machinery and piping projects, the role holder shall provide all the necessary inputs needed to ensure the proper development of the NB projects and the management of the whole plan approval for all the Ships/Brands. Working in cooperation with the Senior Director/Directors, the role holder will undertake the monitoring of progress/deadlines of the project related activities. They will work closely with the operating company team on site and in Miami to collect the possible input/suggestions relevant to the NB projects, ensuring that all contractual, and technical, specifications are met. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Senior Director and Director, Machinery & Piping in revising drawings, plans, and technical specifications during the plan approval process and meetings with builders and makers
  • Assist with project development, including technical specification review and preparation, in coordination with builders and makers
  • Track and follow up on open items from the plan approval process with shipyard representatives
  • Participate in meetings with shipyard technical offices to discuss and resolve outstanding issues
  • Provide regular updates on plan approval progress, open item status, and key risks or issues to leadership
  • Collaborate with Vessel Operations teams both at the shipyard and in Miami throughout project development and approval phases
  • Conduct periodic site visits to shipyards to verify compliance between project requirements and production
  • Support and participate in testing activities, including Test Memo processes, sea trials, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as requested
  • Attend selected meetings and visits with equipment makers and vendors as needed
  • Support leadership during the vessel delivery phase to ensure smooth project completion
  • Coordinate and oversee activities of Machinery & Piping design engineering teams and plan approval managers at the shipyard
  • Monitor overall project status, ensuring timely communication of progress, risks, and issues, and contribute to the development of contractual newbuild technical specifications from concept through delivery

QUALIFICATIONS

DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Naval Machinery / Engine Room or related field

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years within a similar role or technical projects development

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  • Confident using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Confident using Autocad
  • Knowledge of classification society rules and marine regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
  • Proficient in the English Language (B1 or above)
  • Demonstratable Team Working Skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Technical Proficiency within Machinery and Piping
  • Ability to Manage and Build Relationships
  • Time Management

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

  • Driver License
