Job Duties:

You'll make a system-wide impact on patient care by identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting clinical excellence across Geisinger.

  • At least three (3) years of LPN work experience is required.

  • Experience with Core Measure and Get with the Guidelines® Stroke abstraction is highly preferred.

  • The successful candidate will have familiarity with CMS, Joint Commission, and other quality reporting programs and performance measures.

  • A typical schedule is full-time, 40-hours weekly, Monday through Friday, days.

Position Details:

Evaluates the quality of health care services ordered or performed by Geisinger's professional health care providers including medical audits, ambulatory care reviews and the compliance of Geisinger with standards set by associations of health care providers and with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Evaluates the quality of health care rendered requested by external agencies with applicable laws, rules and regulations.

  • Performs medical record audits.
  • Collects, organizes and analyzes data and provides findings to the appropriate.
  • Conducts ongoing medical record review audits in compliance with regulatory and department policy.
  • Conducts focused open and closed medical record review audits.
  • Conducts medical record electronic health record audits in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Enters data into database, audits and generates reports from the database.
  • Performs internal studies and projects as assigned within established time frame.
  • Complies with regulations and recommendations of outside regulatory bodies pertaining to Performance Improvement.
  • Interacts appropriately with physicians, provides information, suggests alternatives, and assists in assuring data integrity.
  • Actively participates in patient safety improvement and management program.
  • Assumes responsibility for identifying processes or systems that could potentially lead to errors and adverse events.
  • Knows and follows organizational and departmental policies and procedures applicable to assigned duties.
  • Promptly reports serious events and incidents in accordance with established hospital policy and procedure.

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
