. This contract, on-site position offers a dynamic opportunity to deliver high-quality mental health care within the Medical Practice industry.



As a Locum Physician, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the mental well-being of patients while bringing flexibility and specialized expertise to our clinical operations.



 



Responsibilities



  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications effectively
  • Provide psychotherapy and behavioral interventions as appropriate
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records
  • Participate in case reviews, clinical consultations, and treatment team meetings
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
  • Perform risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when needed
  • Ensure compliance with medical, ethical, and legal standards
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in psychiatric care
  • Adapt to varying clinical schedules and patient needs in a locum capacity


Requirements



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry, with subspecialty training or experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Valid medical license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Associate-level clinical experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment modalities
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-facing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced medical environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and ethical practice
  • Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
  • Adaptability and resilience in responding to acute psychiatric presentations
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills


Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p)



No call requirement



Setting: Onsite or remote



Patient Volume: 12-16 per day



Case Types: Adverse childhood events, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bulimia, anorexia, some crisis intervention, and some autism



Support Staff: Social workers and behavioral health techs



EMR: Cerner



Must be board-certified



Additional Certifications: DEA, ACLS, and BLS
