Description

We are seeking a Licensed Helth Insurance Agent to support Medicare sales initiatives, with an initial focus on Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNP) and a transition to Individual Plans (IFP) during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) beginning October 1.

This role plays a critical part in helping eligible beneficiaries understand their healthcare coverage options and enroll in the plan that best fits their needs. Representatives will handle both inbound and outbound calls in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate prospective members on Medicare, Medicaid, and Individual plan options, including D-SNP offerings
  • Assist dual-eligible beneficiaries in enrolling into Sentara’s Community Complete (HMO D-SNP) plan
  • Conduct needs assessments to recommend appropriate coverage based on eligibility and healthcare needs
  • Provide benefit explanations, plan comparisons, and accurate quotes
  • Complete telephonic enrollments in compliance with CMS regulations and company policies
  • Handle high volumes of inbound calls driven by ongoing marketing campaigns
  • Execute outbound outreach efforts, including:
    • Contacting Medicaid members eligible for DSNP alignment
    • Following up on care coordinator referrals
    • Supporting C-SNP retention efforts (verification/documentation outreach)
    • Reaching out to individuals aging off family plans (age 26+) for IFP enrollment
  • Route misdirected calls and provide appropriate resources when prospects are not eligible
  • Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and annual training (including AHIP)
  • Licensed Insurance Agent, Health Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, DSNIP, CMS, Individual Plan, Licensed Health Insurance

Work Volume

  • Primary focus on D-SNP enrollment and alignment initiatives through September
  • Transition to Individual Plan sales during AEP
  • Support a large-scale initiative to align approximately 11,000 Medicaid members
  • Handle significant call volume driven by multiple marketing campaigns (May–December)
  • Balance inbound activity with outbound calling during slower periods
  • Licensed Insurance Agent,Health Insurance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Active Virginia Health Insurance License (required)
  • AHIP certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in Medicare sales, health insurance, or call center environment preferred
  • Strong communication, sales, and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to navigate compliance-heavy environments and follow regulatory guidelines
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, performance-driven setting

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
