AI Summary

The Legal Architect translates deep legal expertise into prompts, workflows, and logical frameworks to power an AI-native legal platform. They bridge the gap between legal practice and engineering by defining product requirements and automating complex legal steps.

About Manifest

Manifest OS is the leading AI-native company on a mission to replace the billable hour and make legal services more accessible for American businesses and consumers. We power the next generation of AI-native law firms with one unified global brand, a proprietary technology platform, and a centralized back office — enabling lawyers to eliminate the administrative burden and focus on delivering exceptional outcomes for their clients. Manifest OS has raised a $60M Series A from Menlo Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, First Round, and Quiet Capital.

About the Role

As Legal Architect, you're the bridge between how law actually works and how we teach AI to work with it. You'll translate deep legal expertise into prompts, workflows, and logical frameworks that power our platform. This role exists because building AI for lawyers requires someone who has practiced law, knows where the real complexity lives, and can turn that knowledge into product requirements that matter. Your work directly shapes how dozens of lawyers use Manifest every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Write prompts that help LLMs reason through complex legal concepts accurately

  • Design workflows that mirror how experienced lawyers approach legal problems

  • Build logical frameworks that identify edge cases junior associates routinely miss

  • Break down practice areas — like securities offerings — into discrete, automatable steps

  • Translate legal expertise into clear product requirements for engineering and product teams

  • Iterate on existing workflows based on how lawyers actually use the platform

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 4–8 years of legal practice with deep familiarity in at least one substantive area

  • Track record of improving legal processes — not just identifying problems

  • Comfortable holding your own in technical discussions with engineers

  • Thinks in systems and workflows, not only in legal precedent

Nice-to-haves:

  • Built tools, automations, or side projects other lawyers have actually used

  • Experience evaluating or implementing legal technology at a firm or in-house

This is for you if....

You want to build things that don't exist yet, not refine things that do. You got frustrated by inefficient legal processes and actually did something about it. You're curious about AI developments and experiment with new tools on your own.

This is not for you if....

You value the prestige of traditional legal practice over solving structural problems. You thrive in structured hierarchies and prefer clarity over ambiguity. You're looking to build trial experience or advance toward a partnership track.
