Teach the ED 285 Action Research for Teacher Leaders course online during the Fall 2026 semester. Guide teacher leaders in transforming problems of practice into researchable questions using action research methodologies.

Brandeis University Education Program seeks to hire a part-time lecturer to teach ED 285 Action Research for Teacher Leaders ONLINE in Fall 2026 as part of a Masters Degree program in Teacher Leadership. This course is taught in the Fall semester of a hybrid program that involves in-person study on the Brandeis campus during two summers and online learning during the intervening school year.

The purpose of the course is to introduce teacher leaders to action/practitioner research as a form of professional development and a tool for studying their own practice as teachers and teacher leaders. The course lays a conceptual and practical foundation in action/practitioner research and supports students in transforming a problem of practice related to their teaching into a researchable question. ED 285 includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning and is followed by a Spring semester course in which students do a study of their work as facilitators of teacher learning in their schools.

Candidates should have an advanced degree in education and experience teaching action/practitioner research to teachers in a preservice or professional development program. Familiarity with Jewish day schools is helpful but not required.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.

The compensation for this course is $6,573.15.
