We’re looking for an experienced Learning Solutions Designer to join our growing team. This is a key role within our Product department, focused on translating assessment requirements into clear, engaging content.
You’ll be someone who can take complex topics and make them easy to understand. You’ll have a great eye for detail and understand the nuances of assessment delivery, as well as the regulatory impact.
Working with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll support the management of the product roadmap and programme of regulatory changes. You will design, maintain and test high-quality assessment materials to support all assessment activities.
This role also plays a key part in the quality and growth of our business, so we’re looking for someone who shares our quality and people-first values.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating engaging and factual content that supports learners, providers, and other stakeholders throughout the assessment journey. This includes videos, animation and support documentation.
- Development of apprenticeship standards, assessment materials for EPA and apprenticeship assessment in line with roadmap and budget.
- Maintaining and refining existing assessment materials, processes and documentation in line with the roadmap and document control register.
- Risk assessing the viability of our products from design to delivery, to ensure scalability and high quality.
- Applying instructional design principles and learning theories to create effective, accessible and engaging learning materials.
- Content creation of key artifacts to support learners, providers and employers.
- Technical application of learning technologies using up to date authoring tools, platforms, software, AI tools and multimedia applications to build online assessment, MCQs, learning materials and supporting documentation.
- Managing multiple products at different stages of their lifecycle.
- Compliance with Ofqual’s General Condition of Recognition across all tasks.
- Maintaining CPD for appropriate competency and knowledge to support the range of assessments we offer.
- Potential to support or carry out assessment delivery
- Identifying potential future products by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product changes/updates in line with technology changes, governance and customer requirements.

What We’re Looking For Essential:
- An understanding of Apprenticeship Assessment and EPA
- Commercial knowledge and understanding of the education environment and the requirements for providers, employers and relevant governing bodies.
- 3-5 years proven experience managing a portfolio of products
- In depth knowledge of instructional design principles and learning theories, and the ability to apply these across a range of media and methods
- Knowledge and understanding of Ofqual’s General Condition of Recognition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high level of attention to detail
- The ability to listen, understand customer requirements and work with others to translate these into practical product solutions
- The ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders, and motivate them to make informed decisions.
- Experience working with AI tools and incorporating them into your work to improve quality and create time efficiencies
- Strong organisation and time management skills, able to work with accuracy and attention to detail; able to handle multiple relationships and deadlines with ease
- A data driven mindset, able to make informed and factual decisions, and communicate accurate information
- A customer-centric ethos, with an ability to manage internal and external expectations.
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to spot opportunities
- Ability to manage multiple products whilst meeting deadlines and prioritise work effectively
- Good use of Office 365, SharePoint, PowerBI
- Broad range of skills and knowledge of instruction design tools
Desirable:
- Curriculum design experience
- An understanding of Equalities Law and how this is applied across learning solutions.
