The Lead, Subcontracts Management will oversee the full life cycle of subcontract activities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company policies. They will act as the primary interface between subcontractors and the program, managing high-value agreements and mentoring junior staff.

Our Global Supply Chain organization is seeking a Lead,Subcontracts Management to support the programs, proposals, and business objectives of the Defense Sector. This role will lead full life cycle (“cradle-to-grave”) subcontract management activities supporting primarily US Government programs which complies with contract requirements, company policies and procedures, and applicable laws and acquisition regulations. This role will support the Airborne & Mission Solutions Business Area which supports programs and proposal opportunities that deliver smart, integrated, mission-ready solutions that enhance military intelligence operations and accelerate decision advantage for the warfighter. We achieve this through advanced platform and systems integration, rapid systems modernization, repeatable mission software offerings, and intelligence and data rationalization that turns information into actionable insight.
The successful candidate will provide leadership in Supply Chain as they interface with Leidos management, senior management of suppliers, and to more junior Supply Chain personnel. The candidate will be the primary interface between subcontractors and the program for the contractual management of agreements of various types typically of a high dollar value, risk, creativity and complexity, and will interact with other functional areas (e.g., contracts, project control, finance, growth, etc.) to complete the necessary activities for the portfolio they’re assigned. They will be expected to align subcontract outcomes to those of the program and division, to effectively communicate, manage their time, prioritize actions, meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and detail-oriented who can work both independently and as part of a team. This is an individual contributor role but the successful candidate will have leadership qualities and be able to mentor junior staff. Must have strong FAR compliance background. The successful candidate will be tasked to assist with auditing subcontract files for compliance in addition to managing programs and proposals of their own. They may also be tasked with special projects.
Primary Responsibilities
The position requires the use of business acumen, the demonstration of sound judgement, and a thorough knowledge of federal subcontracting and experience providing creative solutions to business and program requirements. While not an exhaustive list, activities in the subcontracting process that are responsibilities of this role are: crafting teaming strategy and leading proposal activities, subcontract award, and post-award management (e.g., subcontract modifications, risk identification & mitigation, issue resolution, internal reporting, closeout activities, etc.). Further, the position will be expected to identify and resolve complex issues on assigned subcontracts and make recommendations for mitigation steps to management. The candidate may assist management by reviewing files for compliance and coaching more junior staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.
