The Lead Product Designer will own the design direction for the PokerArena mobile game, overseeing navigation, home screen, and progression systems. They will lead a small team of designers while remaining hands-on to solve complex design challenges.
GTO Wizard is the worldwide leader in training and education for serious poker players. We use AI to provide GTO solutions in seconds with comprehensive coverage of poker situations. We're expanding into casual poker gameplay for play money on the web and in mobile apps. Our team of under 100 people works fully remotely on a Central European Timezone schedule.
The Lead Product Designer is the design owner for PokerArena, our mobile poker game. This role covers everything the player touches — navigation, home screen, engagement and progression systems, and beyond. They will be the lead of our two-designer game UX team, setting design direction while staying hands-on.
This role reports to the Chief Product Officer. It is an individual contributor role without direct reports.
Establish PokerArena's approach to product design.
Own the design of navigation, home screen, engagement and progression, and other core game experiences.
Foster professional growth of our other game UX designer.
Get hands-on to solve our most challenging design problems.
Speak directly with at least one player per week to keep in touch with user needs.
Contribute to an environment of rapid iteration: ship quickly and learn instead of analysis paralysis.
Leads through authenticity.
Elevates the quality and consistency of our designs.
Develops a deep understanding of player needs and motivations.
Sees AI tools as an opportunity to scale impact rather than a threat to be managed.
Takes initiative to improve quality and efficiency teamwide.
At least 7 years experience in product design for games, including mobile games, shipping new products and features.
Expert level knowledge of mobile game design patterns, including engagement and progression systems.
An understanding of poker at least to the level of a non-professional enthusiast
Clear, professional English language communication skills (written and spoken).
A proven history of delivery at pace.
Experience designing products with AI assistance.
