Ciklum is looking for a Lead Flutter Engineer to join our team full-time in the Czech Republic.

About the role:

As a Lead Flutter Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow working on a live mobile application that is already on the market and is now being migrated from Unity to Flutter. This is a technically interesting moment to join 2014 the project has a long runway, and if the migration goes well, the same approach will be rolled out across a wider application portfolio as part of a major long-term platform transformation. 

This is one of the most significant technical transformations in the client's history, with a product that will serve tens of millions of users over the next decade. It is the kind of project that looks good on a CV and feels good to work on.

You will not just be writing code. You will help define how the team works, set standards,make technical calls, and be the person others turn to when things get hard. The team culture is flat and collaborative, and the expectation is that leadership here looks more like coaching than managing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day Flutter development for a live consumer mobile application on iOS and Android
  • Drive the Unity-to-Flutter migration, owning the architectural decisions, platform strategy, and delivery oversight from a technical perspective
  • Steer and align senior engineers on architecture, technical direction, and engineering standards across the team
  • Set and maintain high standards across code quality, testing, CI/CD, and release practices
  • Own the release process across platform stores (Google Play and App Store), including governance, versioning, and deployment workflows
  • Ensure proper governance and compliance around parental and child- facing features, working closely with product and safety stakeholders
  • Lead code reviews and drive technical discussions, setting the bar for what good looks like
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact in cross-functional discussions with designers, QA, firmware engineers, and product teams
  • Contribute to longer-term platform thinking, helping shape how mobile engineering scales across the broader portfolio

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years of hands-on Flutter and Dart production experience
  • Deep understanding of Flutter architecture, widget lifecycle, and state management at scale (BLoC strongly preferred)
  • Proven track record of making and communicating architectural decisions in a team setting
  • Strong experience integrating mobile apps with REST APIs, handling auth flows (JWT, OAuth2), and building resilient, well-tested API layers
  • Comfortable with Firebase services including Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions, and Push Notifications
  • Experience with offline/online sync, caching strategies, and mobile performance optimisation
  • Background in modernising or migrating legacy codebases while keeping things stable
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD and release processes for mobile platforms

Desirable:

  • Experience with Unity or other cross-platform frameworks
  • Background in games, connected devices, or children's digital products
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth peripherals, IoT, or BLE device communication
  • Native iOS or Android development experience
  • Comfortable presenting technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
