We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer with strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data solutions. This role will be responsible for the design, structure, integration, and maintenance of data across data warehouses, operational data stores, and other enterprise data infrastructures.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in SQL, data engineering, ETL, data integration, and data architecture with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This person will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to design reliable data solutions, optimize high-volume workloads, and ensure data is accurate, accessible, and fit for business needs.

What will you be doing?

• Design, structure, and maintain data solutions that ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and reliability.

• Lead data engineering and ETL initiatives, including data extraction, transformation, loading, and integration.

• Develop, modify, enhance, and implement data warehouse and data processing architectures according to established requirements and standards.

• Design and implement data models and logical workflows to support enterprise data infrastructures.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes, programs, and solutions following established engineering standards.

• Monitor and administer automated and manual data integration and ETL jobs, validating execution and measuring performance.

• Lead efforts to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve data integration and ETL job issues.

• Develop preventative solutions and troubleshoot failures involving error handling, data manipulation, and I/O processing.

• Review and implement innovative solutions to aggregate and optimize performance for high-volume workloads.

• Lead the implementation of programming concepts including data structures, error handling, data manipulation, and I/O processing.

• Apply database concepts and practices, including database definition and query languages.

• Partner with the Insights team to design, implement, and support end-to-end data solutions across multiple platforms, environments, domains, and locations.

• Work with stakeholders to define data capture requirements that address business questions and desired outcomes.

• Coordinate with development teams to implement data capture requirements.

• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering, integration, and architecture practices.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

• + 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or a related field.

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and data-oriented technologies.

• Strong experience designing and developing ETL processes and data integration solutions.

• Experience working with data warehouses, operational data stores, and enterprise data infrastructures.

• Experience with data modeling, data structures, and logical data workflows.

• Experience optimizing data solutions and processing for high-volume workloads.

• Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve moderate to complex data and ETL issues.

• Strong understanding of database concepts, query languages, data manipulation, and data processing.

• Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop preventative and sustainable solutions.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

• Ability to work collaboratively with Insights, development, engineering, and business teams.

• Ability to take ownership of assigned initiatives and provide technical leadership throughout the implementation process.
