About the Collaboration

OIKONOMAKIS LAW is an established Greek law firm with an international practice focused on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional legal matters involving individuals, companies, investors and institutions across multiple jurisdictions.

The Firm’s Managing Partner, Christos Oikonomakis, is a Greek-qualified lawyer and is registered in Israel as a foreign lawyer.

Within the applicable Israeli regulatory framework governing foreign lawyers, Mr. Oikonomakis provides legal services in Israel concerning Greek law, within the scope permitted by his professional qualification and foreign-lawyer registration.

His status as a registered foreign lawyer does not authorize him to practice Israeli law.

OIKONOMAKIS LAW is therefore seeking to establish an independent professional collaboration with an experienced Israeli lawyer based in Tel Aviv or the wider Tel Aviv District who can independently undertake the Israeli-law components of cross-border matters handled by Mr. Oikonomakis and the Firm.

Nature of the Opportunity

This is not an employment position.

We are inviting proposals for an independent professional collaboration between OIKONOMAKIS LAW / Christos Oikonomakis and an Israeli legal practitioner or independent Israeli legal practice.

The participating lawyers and legal practices will remain fully:

* professionally independent;

* legally and scientifically independent;

* financially independent;

* organizationally independent; and

* corporately independent.

Each lawyer or legal practice will remain independently responsible for:

* the legal advice and services provided by them;

* compliance with the professional and regulatory framework applicable to their own practice;

* professional conduct requirements;

* professional liability and insurance arrangements applicable to them;

* their own professional decisions and legal opinions; and

* the conduct of those parts of each matter falling within their respective professional qualification and authorization.

The collaboration may operate on a case-by-case, referral, co-counsel and/or continuing professional collaboration basis depending upon the nature and volume of cross-border matters.

Scope of Collaboration

Cross-border matters may involve circumstances where Mr Oikonomakis provides advice concerning Greek law while the same transaction, dispute or client matter simultaneously raises issues of Israeli law.

In such circumstances, the selected Israeli lawyer may be independently instructed to undertake the relevant Israeli-law workstream.

This may include, where appropriate:

* advising on Israeli law;

* preparing Israeli legal opinions;

* identifying Israeli-law implications arising from cross-border matters;

* drafting and reviewing contracts governed by Israeli law;

* corporate and commercial matters;

* company and investment matters;

* civil and commercial disputes;

* litigation and dispute resolution;

* recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments;

* arbitration and alternative dispute resolution;

* property and real estate matters;

* immigration and residency matters;

* inheritance and succession matters;

* family and private client matters involving Greece and Israel;

* banking and regulatory matters;

* dealings with Israeli public authorities, registries and institutions;

* representation before Israeli courts, tribunals or authorities where professionally appropriate;

* negotiations with Israeli counterparties;

* conducting Israeli legal research;

* preparing Israeli-law memoranda and procedural documentation; and

* cooperating with Greek and other international counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters.

The objective is to provide clients with coordinated and efficient cross-border assistance while ensuring a clear division between Greek-law legal services and Israeli-law legal services.

Regulatory Structure

The proposed cooperation is designed specifically to respect the professional boundaries applicable to foreign lawyers operating in Israel.

Mr. Christos Oikonomakis will provide legal services only within the scope of his foreign professional qualification and registration in Israel, including advice and legal work concerning Greek law.

Any legal service that constitutes the practice of Israeli law will be undertaken independently by the appropriately qualified Israeli lawyer.

The Israeli collaborating lawyer will retain complete professional control and responsibility for the Israeli-law component of any matter entrusted to them.

Requirements

Applicants must:

* be fully admitted to practice law in Israel;

* be current members of the Israel Bar Association;

* be legally authorized to practice Israeli law;

* be in good professional standing;

* have a minimum of five (5) years of post-qualification legal experience;

* maintain the professional arrangements and insurance appropriate to their practice;

* be based in Tel Aviv or otherwise able to provide effective legal services throughout Israel;

* possess excellent legal drafting, research and analytical skills;

* demonstrate the ability to handle matters independently;

* have strong professional judgment and client-management abilities;

* have excellent written and spoken Hebrew;

* have excellent written and spoken English; and

* maintain high standards of confidentiality, professional ethics and responsiveness.

Preferred Experience

Particular consideration will be given to lawyers experienced in one or more of the following areas:

* Corporate and Commercial Law

* Commercial Litigation

* Civil Litigation

* Contract Law

* International and Cross-Border Disputes

* Private International Law

* Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments

* Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution

* Real Estate and Property Law

* Immigration and Residency

* Inheritance and Succession

* Family and Private Client Law

* International Business Transactions

* Banking and Regulatory Matters

* International Investments

Experience involving:

* international clients;

* European businesses;

* Greek individuals or companies;

* Israeli investments in Greece;

* Greek investments or interests in Israel;

* cross-border Greece–Israel disputes;

* real estate transactions involving Greece and Israel; or

* clients with legal interests in both jurisdictions will be considered a significant advantage.

Knowledge of the Greek language is advantageous but not required.

Professional Independence

The selected collaborator will not become an employee of OIKONOMAKIS LAW by virtue of this collaboration.

The arrangement is intended to preserve the complete legal, professional, scientific, organizational and corporate independence of all participating lawyers and legal practices.

There will be no employment relationship solely by reason of the collaboration.

Each matter will be subject to:

* appropriate conflict-of-interest checks;

* acceptance by the relevant lawyer;

* agreement on the scope of work;

* clear allocation of professional responsibility;

* applicable regulatory and professional requirements; and

* agreement on professional fees.

What We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in establishing a long-term professional relationship with a reliable, experienced and commercially minded Israeli lawyer who is comfortable operating independently while coordinating efficiently with international counsel.

The collaboration may include:

* individual client referrals;

* Greece–Israel cross-border matters;

* Israeli-law workstreams within larger international files;

* joint coordination of multi-jurisdictional disputes;

* transactional matters;

* international investments;

* private-client matters; and

* continuing collaboration regarding clients with legal and commercial interests in both Greece and Israel.

The objective is not to create an employment relationship, but to establish a reliable professional cooperation between independent legal practitioners.

Application

Interested lawyers are invited to submit:

* a current CV or professional profile;

* Israel Bar Association membership details;

* confirmation of current authority to practice Israeli law;

* details of their existing law firm or independent legal practice;

* principal areas of practice;

* confirmation of at least five years of post-qualification professional experience;

* a summary of relevant international and cross-border experience;

* languages spoken;

* confirmation of appropriate professional arrangements;

* their preferred structure for professional collaboration; and

* indicative hourly and/or matter-based professional rates.

Applications and proposals will be treated confidentially and will remain subject to professional conflict and regulatory checks.
