AI Summary

Support attorneys in federal intellectual property litigation from pre-suit strategy through trial resolution. Responsibilities include managing case calendars, drafting legal documents, coordinating electronic filings, and preparing exhibits for hearings and trials.

We're seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling federal patent infringement litigation, as well as trademark and copyright infringement matters. This role focuses on litigation from pre-suit strategy through trial and resolution-not patent prosecution or USPTO/PTAB practice.

You'll manage complex federal litigation matters by maintaining case calendars and deadlines, drafting and proofreading pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial documents, coordinating electronic filings, organizing case files, supporting discovery and document review, preparing exhibits for depositions, Markman hearings, mediations, hearings, and trial, and communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors.

The ideal candidate understands the unique demands of patent litigation and can confidently manage multiple matters while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of federal intellectual property litigation paralegal experience
  • Experience supporting patent infringement litigation in federal court strongly preferred
  • Candidates with significant trademark or copyright infringement litigation experience will also be considered
  • Experience with:
    • Federal court filings and procedures
    • PACER and CM/ECF
    • Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP)
    • Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE)
    • Researching and following local court rules and individual judge procedures
  • Experience managing litigation calendars and critical deadlines
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • High attention to detail while managing multiple active matters
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with attorneys

Highly Preferred

  • Patent infringement litigation experience, including familiarity with:
    • Claim charts
    • Markman hearings
    • Patent-related discovery
  • Experience in multiple federal district courts (particularly the Eastern District of Pennsylvania)
  • Trial preparation experience

A Typical Workday

Your day begins by reviewing the docket, monitoring new filings, and prioritizing deadlines across active federal litigation matters. You'll coordinate with attorneys on upcoming motions, discovery, and case strategy while preparing pleadings, exhibits, and filing packages for submission through CM/ECF. Throughout the day, you'll track deadlines under the Federal Rules and local court rules, maintain organized electronic case files, coordinate with court personnel and vendors, assist with discovery and trial preparation, and ensure every filing is accurate, timely, and compliant. You'll finish the day by updating case status, confirming upcoming deadlines, and keeping the litigation team aligned across multiple active matters.
