Work Set-up: Permanent Work From Home
Schedule: Mon- Fri, 7 am – 3:30 pm PHT (QLD Holiday)
Salary: Php 70,000 – 85,000
The business is a boutique rapidly growing accounting firm based on the Northern Beaches of Cairns. The firm has been in existence for less than 5 years but has grown revenue nearly 5
times during that period. The firm is full electronic and online with remote workers already in
place. Due to the growth of the firm and its clients an opportunity presents itself for this new
position. The clients are across a variety of industries and sizes and include construction,
primary production, legal, retail and tourism.
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AN AU Intermediate Accountant
Your Responsibilities as an Intermediate Accountant would be:
Bookkeeping Duties
•Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable
•Perform bank reconciliations and ensure financial data integrity
•Process invoices, payments, and expense claims efficiently
•Manage payroll processing and compliance with relevant regulations.
•Maintain general ledger accuracy and financial reporting obligations.
•Conduct month-end and year-end financial closings.
•Identify opportunities for advisory work
Intermediate Accounting Duties
•Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
•Preparation of individual income tax returns
•Assist in the preparation of entity tax returns
•Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and other regulatory requirements.
•Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.
Qualifications as an Intermediate Accountant would be:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
•3+ years of bookkeeping and accounting experience.
•Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Excel, and Microsoft Teams
•Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations.
•Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely with minimal supervision
