Infrastructure Security Architecture (Belgium)

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Security Architect (15+ years of experience) to strengthen the security posture of Elia Group's Enterprise Developer Platform (EDP), a cloud-native hybrid platform supporting software development and infrastructure services.

The role focuses on defining and driving the security architecture across a complex distributed infrastructure, translating security requirements into engineering standards, leading security reviews and threat modelling, and collaborating with architects and stakeholders across multiple product lines. The consultant will develop security roadmaps, document governance artifacts (ADRs, security standards, risk assessments), and make key architectural decisions balancing security, scalability, and business needs.

Mandatory Requirements

• 15+ years' experience in infrastructure and security architecture.

• Proven experience designing security architecture for complex distributed systems.

• Strong expertise in:

  • Identity & Access Management (IAM) and authorization models.

  • Authentication flows (user, service-to-service, admin, break-glass).

  • Secrets, certificates and key management.

  • Threat modelling and security risk assessments.

  • Kubernetes and container security.

  • Core infrastructure (compute, networking, storage).

• Experience leading security reviews, audits, vulnerability remediation, and cross-functional technical governance.

• Fluent English (C1+).

Nice to Have

• Virtualization, Software Defined Networking (SDN), distributed storage and bare-metal provisioning.

• SPIFFE/SPIRE or workload identity platforms.

• Security in sovereign/highly regulated environments.

• Python ecosystem (FastAPI, Pydantic, PostgreSQL, authentication/authorization libraries).

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or CKS.
