Infrastructure Development Lead - Australia

We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers.

As AI drives unprecedented demand for power and grid infrastructure, speed to new capacity is critical. This role is focused on acquiring Ready-to-Build solar and BESS projects across Australia, alongside selective greenfield development.

You'll be one of the first people building our Australian project pipeline. There's no playbook and plenty of ownership. We need someone driven and high agency who can find deals, move fast and get them over the line.

Responsibilities

• Source and originate Ready-to-Build solar and BESS projects through developers, landowners and industry networks
• Lead technical, grid, planning and commercial due diligence on acquisition opportunities
• Drive transactions end to end, from first conversation through negotiation and close
• Assess project risks across grid connection, permitting, land and construction readiness
• Lead selective greenfield solar and BESS projects from site identification through Ready-to-Build
• Work with our technical team to develop grid connection strategies with AEMO, DNSPs and TNSPs
• Build strong relationships with developers, advisors, landowners and stakeholders across the Australian market
• Ensure acquired and developed projects are deliverable, scalable and ready for construction

Requirements

• Experience in utility-scale solar, BESS or renewable energy development, acquisitions or M&A
• Track record of originating, assessing or closing renewable energy project transactions
• Strong understanding of Australian grid connection processes, including AEMO, DNSPs and state approvals
• Solid technical and commercial understanding of solar PV and battery storage projects
• Exceptionally driven and high agency, with a history of making things happen without direction
• Comfortable operating at pace in an ambiguous, early-stage environment
• Strong network across Australian developers, landowners and industry stakeholders is a plus
