The IT Manager will oversee daily IT operations, infrastructure, cloud services, and security while ensuring system reliability and performance. They are also responsible for leading IT projects, managing budgets, and mentoring the IT team to support organizational goals.
This is a remote position.
Manage the organization’s day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure, networks, cloud services, applications, and end-user technology.
Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, security, and scalability of IT systems and services.
Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, collaboration tools, and endpoint environments.
Oversee IT service management, including service desk, incidents, service requests, problems, changes, assets, and service levels.
Lead the resolution of technical issues and major incidents, ensuring timely root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Manage IT security controls, including identity and access management, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.
Ensure appropriate backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and IT resilience capabilities are maintained and tested.
Lead and support IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, integrations, and technology improvement initiatives.
Evaluate technology solutions and recommend systems, tools, and services that meet business and operational requirements.
Manage IT vendors, service providers, software licensing, contracts, procurement, and technology assets.
Monitor IT budgets, costs, resources, and technology utilization, identifying opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, documentation, and operational processes.
Identify technology risks and ensure appropriate mitigation actions are implemented.
Ensure IT systems comply with organizational policies, security requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Monitor IT performance through service-level agreements, KPIs, dashboards, and operational reports.
Identify recurring technical and operational issues and implement improvements to prevent future incidents.
Promote automation, standardization, and efficient use of technology across the organization.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure, applications, systems, assets, and technology processes.
Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team, ensuring clear responsibilities, performance objectives, and continuous skills development.
Manage IT workload and resources to ensure operational requirements and project priorities are effectively addressed.
Partner with HR to manage employee onboarding, offboarding, access, devices, and other technology requirements.
Partner with Finance, Operations, Legal, and other business functions to understand requirements and deliver effective IT solutions.
Provide technical guidance and support to management on technology decisions, risks, investments, and operational issues.
Coordinate with external technical specialists and managed service providers when additional expertise is required.
Provide regular reports to management on IT performance, projects, risks, service issues, costs, and technology priorities.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in an IT management, supervisory, or senior technical role.
Strong experience managing IT infrastructure, cloud services, networking, enterprise applications, end-user computing, and IT service delivery.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, and/or other major cloud platforms.
Experience with enterprise networking, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, wireless technologies, and connectivity.
Experience managing endpoint environments, device management, software deployment, and endpoint security.
Practical understanding of cybersecurity, identity and access management, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and technology resilience.
Proven experience managing IT projects, system implementations, migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
Experience managing IT vendors, managed service providers, contracts, licensing, procurement, and technology assets.
Experience managing IT budgets, forecasting costs, and identifying cost optimization opportunities.
Experience with IT service management processes, including incident, problem, change, request, asset, and service-level management.
Strong understanding of IT governance, risk management, security controls, and technology policies.
Knowledge of ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, or other relevant frameworks is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical and operational issues.
Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing IT teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, vendors, and operational requirements simultaneously.
Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and operate effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, GCP, CompTIA, or other technology certifications are an advantage.
