Job Description

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks an Impact Investing Intern to play a critical role in honing and advancing WWF’s impact investing strategy by researching and developing opportunities for WWF Impact to further its catalytic investment portfolio. This work will enable WWF Impact to accelerate and scale its investments and achieve WWF’s charitable mission.

WWF Impact’s intern will help accelerate our impact investing initiatives, contributing to WWF's mission of creating a better future for people and nature. The intern will focus on key sectors such as aquaculture, food circularity, and regenerative agriculture, all while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive significant environmental outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive market and investment landscape scans in the food and oceans sector across in specific priority regions, including Northern Europe and the Americas
• Engage with WWF Impact's current portfolio companies and support pipeline development, monitoring, and evaluation
• Help identify and support conversations with external partners, investors, and companies to help inform market scan
• Participate in discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions with experts from WWF’s extensive network to derive insights useful for honed investment strategy
• Contribute to reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to the broader team and to help inform early-stage impact investing strategy

DESIRED SKILLS

• Strong analytical skills with a focus on market and systems research.
• Familiarity with impact investing, startups, and sustainability concepts, particularly in food and marine systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• A background in environmental science, economics, agriculture, business, public policy, or a related field.
• Passion for conservation and sustainable development, with a drive to create measurable impact.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

• Only enrolled students are eligible for this internship as you must be able to receive academic credit from your current academic institution. Able to work either part-time or full-time, depending on class schedule and availability. Please detail in your cover letter how you will receive compensation or course credit.

Location: 

Remote. WWF employs in all states with the exception of: Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Oklahoma. 

Compensation:  

Unpaid. For all unpaid internships, applicants must be enrolled in school and be able to obtain academic course credit from their university.
