Technical Data Center Security Assurance Manager

Control Risks is looking to hire a Technical Data Center Security Assurance Manager to support a major technology client of ours. This role will be responsible for overseeing the review and improvement of security technology across the client’s data center projects. The Program Manager will inspect, monitor, and validate construction activities, ensuring all installations, testing, commissioning, and contractor deliverables meet project specifications, industry standards and client requirements. This individual will identify and clearly articulate risks within their campus portfolio, communicating the impact to risk treatment and acceptance options. They will work with Client team to prioritize risks identified and associated treatment plans.

Working closely with vendors in the client environment, the successful candidate will identify and escalate non-conformances, coordinate corrective actions, and provide oversight of outage planning, work plans and project closeout activities. This individual will serve as a trusted representative of the client on-site, maintaining detailed quality records, witnessing critical system tests, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and construction quality throughout the project lifecycle. The role is a remote position and requires regular travel to 10-15 campuses in a contained geographical area, often with limited advance notice.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Inspect building security systems, including mechanical and electrical, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
• Provide risk assessments for various client data center sites and provide information on critical security concerns for improvement.
• Monitor the installation, testing and commissioning of security systems, confirming proper functionality and performance.
• Identify and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality control and compliance tracking.
• Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists and project closeouts.
• Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups.
• Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
• Work closely with contractors, engineers and other inspectors to resolve issues.
• Maintain professionalism in attire and communication during all time on site and in meetings.
• Represent the Client in alignment with contract requirements and project deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 7+ years of experience in assurance, specifically working in Data Center Security or another heavily secured environment.
• Experience conducting risk assessments for Data Centers required.
• PSP preferred
• Must be adept at working independently and engaging productively with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, method statements, inspection test plans and QA/QC documentation.
• Ability to identify quality risks, installation defects, incomplete work and documentation gaps before they affect commissioning or operations.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the written and oral communication skills necessary to build relationships and positively influence decision-making.
• Works iteratively, delivering quickly and frequently to produce high-quality documents and outputs which require little to no rework.
• Strong critical thinking skills that enable problem solving and understanding complex, dynamic issues.
• Track record of having earned the trust of leadership by challenging norms, upgrading team performance, enabling growth, improving efficiency, and leading individuals without having any authority over them.
• Possess the proven ability to think outside of the box, challenge industry norms and adapt quickly to evolving requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 75% with a moments notice in region.

The base salary range for this position is $140000-$150000per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
