Position Summary: 

We’re hiring an Immigration Attorney to support our legal team in representing individuals and families across a wide range of immigration matters. You’ll report directly to the Managing Attorney and play a hands-on role in case strategy, client advocacy, legal representation, and case management.


This is not a passive, advisory-only role. You’ll be actively managing cases, preparing filings, representing clients before government agencies and immigration courts when needed, and guiding clients through complex immigration processes. The work requires both legal precision and the ability to operate with urgency, professionalism, and empathy while supporting clients through important life-changing matters.


We’re looking for someone with proven experience in immigration law who can confidently navigate evolving regulations and procedures. The right person is detail-oriented, responsive, and committed to delivering high-quality legal representation while maintaining compassion and professionalism in every client interaction.

 

What you'll do:

  1. Meet with clients to assess their immigration needs and determine viable legal strategies
  2. Advise clients on available immigration options, clearly explaining requirements, risks, and timelines
  3. Prepare, review, and file a range of immigration applications, including petitions, work permits, green cards, naturalization, and waivers
  4. Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, and other relevant government agencies as needed
  5. Handle appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and other relevant courts, building strong, well-supported legal arguments
  6. Advocate for clients seeking asylum or other humanitarian relief, guiding them through case preparation and proceedings
  7. Prepare clients for interviews and hearings, ensuring they are informed and confident throughout the process
  8. Represent clients in immigration proceedings when necessary, pursuing appropriate forms of relief and advocating for favorable outcomes
  9. Stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and policy updates, applying changes to active and future cases
  10. Collaborate with internal teams by providing guidance on case strategy and supporting client-related inquiries

Who you are:

  • Experienced in immigration law, with exposure to a broad range of family-based, humanitarian, and removal-related matters
  • Confident in legal advocacy, with the ability to represent and advise clients effectively in a variety of settings
  • Detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple cases and deadlines without losing quality
  • Compassionate and client-focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive and reliable, able to take ownership of cases while working closely with a Managing Attorney


Education:

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited US law school.


Qualifications

  1. Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  2. At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position. 
  3. Experience in the legal services industry. 
  4. Experience in US Immigration Law, including family-based and humanitarian-based petitions, or removal proceedings.
  5. Proficient with learning and troubleshooting new technologies. 
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail. 
  8. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. 
  11. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. 
  12. Proficient with Google Suite or related software.
  13. Experience working with legal assistants and support staff to ensure smooth case management.


Working Conditions:

  • This is a remote position.; however, the role may require attending in-person court hearings and client interviews.

Physical Requirements:

This role may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking. Candidates should have the ability to communicate effectively, including speaking and hearing, as well as using their hands for tasks such as typing or handling materials. Limited lifting may also be required.
