About American Dental Companies (ADC)

American Dental Companies is rapidly expanding, and we are actively building a world-class HR foundation to champion our practices, empower our leaders, and support our team members across the organization.

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on, and service-oriented HR Generalist to join our People Operations team. This is a high-visibility role tailored for an HR professional who excels in a multi-site, distributed workforce environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, the ideal candidate will blend operational excellence with a strong customer-service mindset-bringing order to complex data, resolving front-line workforce matters with urgency, and supporting scalable HR practices as we grow.

The Role: What You'll Do

As our HR Generalist, you will provide critical day-to-day support across the entire employee lifecycle, manage HRIS data integrity, support employment compliance, and serve as an essential operational partner to our field leadership and corporate teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations: Oversee transactional excellence for employee onboarding, offboarding, internal transfers, promotions, status changes, and personnel records. Monitor HR inboxes and tasks to ensure swift, high-touch resolution.

  • Employee Relations & Manager Support: Provide direct guidance to practice managers on routine policy interpretation, attendance management, and conduct expectations. Partner with Field HR leadership to help prepare corrective actions and document employee relations matters.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Field HRBPs, and Regional Operations leadership to ensure employee changes are processed accurately, timely, and with flawless data handoffs.

  • Benefits & Leave Integration: Assist with the intake and operational routing of leaves of absence (LOA), accommodation requests, workers' compensation, and return-to-work coordination, aligning closely with dedicated benefits partners.

  • Compliance, Audits & Data Integrity: Maintain absolute confidentiality while managing multi-state HR compliance, I-9 verification, license/certification tracking, handbook updates, and strict HRIS reporting/dashboard metrics.

  • Process Architecture & Practice Integration: Identify recurring workflow gaps to help create and refine standardized HR templates, SOPs, and checklists. Support new practice acquisitions through diligent data collection and field stabilization activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive, hands-on Human Resources experience (specifically spanning HR operations, employee relations support, and employee data administration).

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required; a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Industry Footprint: Background supporting multi-site healthcare, dental, retail, hospitality, or similarly distributed workforces is strongly preferred (multi-state experience is a major plus).

  • Core Competencies: Strong foundational knowledge of federal and state employment compliance, corrective action workflows, leave intake protocols, and advanced HRIS workflows.

  • Systems Fluency: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, videoconferencing tools (Teams), reporting dashboards, and mainstream Applicant Tracking and HRIS platforms.

  • Professional Credentials: SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent professional HR certification is preferred.
