Responsibilities
Position Objective:
The Health Coach is an operational role and is responsible for helping individuals improve their overall health and well-being. The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager of Health Services (or a similar role) and will work closely with clients to develop personalized health plans, provide guidance and support, and empower them to make positive lifestyle changes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments to understand clients' health goals, concerns, and challenges
- Develop personalized health plans based on the client's needs, incorporating nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other relevant factors
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to clients, helping them stay motivated and accountable
- Educate clients on healthy lifestyle choices, including proper nutrition, exercise routines, and stress-reduction techniques
- Monitor clients' progress and make adjustments to their health plans as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nutritionists, to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in health and wellness
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements/ Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., health promotion, nutrition, psychology) is required
- Certification as a Health Coach from a recognized program is required
- 1 + year of experience working as a Health Coach
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a health coaching or wellness program
- Strong knowledge of health and wellness principles, behavior change theories, and evidence-based coaching techniques
- Proficiency in using technology and software applications relevant to health coaching
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of health coaching
- Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned
- Must be able to lift at least 15lbs at times
