The Health and Safety Lead will provide specialist fire safety and evacuation support across multiple locations, ensuring compliance and effective emergency arrangements. This involves conducting site assessments, delivering staff training, and producing assurance reports for senior leadership.
Location: Ideally based close to major road links. There is no set location, as the role requires coverage across England, Wales and Scotland. It will require flexibility to undertake extensive travel and overnight stays
Salary: ca. £44000
Working pattern: Full-time Monday to Friday
About the role
At Leonard Cheshire, the safety and wellbeing of the people we support and our colleagues is at the heart of everything we do.
The role is Health and Safety Lead; however, it focuses on Fire Safety responsibilities that provide specialist operational support across multiple locations. You’ll work closely with Service Managers and frontline teams, visiting locations across the organisation to review evacuation arrangements, ensure Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) are accurate and person-centred, support evacuation drills and provide practical training and coaching.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands fire safety and emergency evacuation and can turn compliance requirements into practical, effective arrangements that work in real-life situations.

About you
Essential for this role is:
A NEBOSH Fire Safety, IOSH or equivalent qualification would be desirable, as would experience in health and social care, supported living or residential care.
