About the Role

The Hardware Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers in APAC and reporting directly to Global Director of HW Engineering and & Compliance. The Hardware Engineering Manager is responsible for the development, validation, and launch of innovative products and systems.

This role provides technical leadership, project oversight, and strategic direction while ensuring products meet performance, quality, safety, regulatory, and business requirements. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and external partners to deliver successful products on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring alignment with business objectives, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for product development, design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and product management teams.
  • Establish engineering priorities, allocate resources, and manage workload to meet project milestones and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Oversee product verification, validation, and qualification activities to ensure product performance and reliability requirements are met.
  • Review and approve engineering documentation, specifications, test plans, and design changes.
  • Identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize project and business impacts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, development processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with suppliers (OEM, ODM, JDM), external engineering firms, and testing laboratories as needed to support development activities.
  • Track project progress, communicate status updates to stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and career development of engineering team members.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies, tools, and processes that enhance product development capabilities.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, design controls, and engineering best practices. Understanding of design evaluation techniques such as reliability analysis, statistical tolerance, Failure Mode, and Effect analysis (FMEA).
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous tasks in an environment that can be demanding.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experienced designing Android based display system.
  • Electronics design expertise within Precor’s core competencies, including digital display systems, motors and motor controllers, power supplies, and electromagnetics.
  • Working knowledge of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication) & EMI
  • Radiated and conducted immunity in terms of FCC and CE regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation and project management.
  • Knowledge of UL 1647, IEC 60335 is a plus.
