AI Summary

You will manage Google and YouTube ad campaigns for ecommerce brands, including data reporting, campaign optimization, and client communication. You will work directly with the co-founder to scale accounts using performance-based attribution metrics.

About us

Convertibles is a CRO and Shopify development agency for 8 and 9 figure D2C brands. We've just brought Google and YouTube ads in-house under the same roof, run by our co-founder Clay. He's been doing Google Ads for ecommerce since 2013: built and exited his own brand on Google Ads and CRO, then ran Google and YouTube for brands spending $50k to $500k+ a month on Google alone. The ads book today is around seven brands across the US, UK, EU and Australia, and it's growing.

The role

This is an apprenticeship with a real job attached. You work directly with Clay (x @ecomclay), learn how he runs accounts, and within 90 days you're running the weekly cycle on your first accounts yourself.

The weekly cycle, concretely:

  • Monday: pull last week's numbers (Google Ads platform side plus the client's attribution tool - Triple Whale, Converge or Northbeam), update the reporting workbook, write the client update, produce the actions list. Exact campaign, exact change, why.
  • Through the week: make the changes, watch pacing, check feeds and Merchant Center, build new campaigns (Search, Shopping, PMax, YouTube / Demand Gen).
  • Client calls: sit in first, then run them.

How we work, so you know what you're signing up for

  • YouTube and Demand Gen are the main event, not a side channel. We take a brand's winning Meta ads, recut them for YouTube, and scale. Accounts have gone from YouTube at 6-12% of media mix to 13-22%, at a return that held for over a year.
  • Attribution-tool numbers decide YouTube, not platform numbers. If you've only ever judged campaigns on what Google Ads says, you'll learn a different lens.
  • Everything gets a number. "Performance improved" is not a finding. "NC-CPA went from £38 to £30 on the same spend" is.
  • AI is part of the workflow. Reporting workbooks, data pulls and first drafts are built with Claude. You don't need to be a developer, but you need to be comfortable working this way.
  • There's a dev, CRO, QA and design team behind the ads. When a landing page or a feed needs fixing, someone fixes it.

Who fits

  • 2-4 years hands-on in Google Ads for ecommerce. Your hands on the account, not managing someone whose hands are.
  • You've run Search, Shopping and PMax on real budgets (at least one account at $20k+/month). You've at least touched YouTube or Demand Gen and want to go deep on it.
  • Comfortable in Google Sheets / Excel. You can look at eight weeks of campaign data and tell me what changed and why.
  • You know what a Merchant Center disapproval is and how to fix it.
  • You write clearly in English. You'll be writing to clients by week five.
  • Curious, direct, not precious about being told you're wrong.

Not a fit: agency account managers who relay what the specialist did. Meta buyers who "also do Google". Anyone who needs the basics explained.

Hours

Full-time, 40h/wk. Your morning overlaps with Clay (he's UTC+8), your afternoon overlaps with UK/EU clients and the US East Coast. Flexible beyond that.

First 90 days

  • Weeks 1-4: shadow. Pull the data, build the workbooks, sit on every call.
  • Weeks 5-8: draft the Monday updates and actions lists for two accounts. Clay reviews before they go out.
  • Weeks 9-12: own the weekly cycle and the check-in call on your first account.

Comp is reviewed at 90 days. The per-account bonus starts when you own an account.

What you get

Direct training from someone who's done this for 13 years, on his own money and then on clients'. A team behind you. A real path: run accounts, then lead the Google / YouTube lane.

How to apply

Keep it short. Answer the questions in the form with numbers, not adjectives. Shortlisted people do a paid 2-3 hour test task, then a call with Clay.
