The Position: Product Manager (Shopify Apps)
In this dual-focused role as Product Manager for our Shopify Apps, you will assume total end-to-end strategic and operational responsibility for our growing software product portfolio. Serving as the primary coordinator across the organization, you will successfully bridge the gap between merchant needs, commercial business goals, and technical engineering feasibility. Detailed Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management
- Feature Discovery & Launch: Guide new features and product enhancements seamlessly through their entire lifecycle—from early ideation, user discovery, and technical design documentation to successful market launch and post-launch optimization.
- Roadmap Strategy: Actively shape, manage, and execute the mid-to-long-term product roadmap. This includes carefully structuring epics, identifying cross-functional dependencies, and making justified, transparent prioritization decisions.
Backlog Ownership & Technical Specification
- Backlog & Prioritization: Independently maintain, clean, and prioritize the app product backlogs. You will routinely apply structured scoring frameworks (such as RICE) to manage our internal engineering resources effectively and maximize business value.
- Technical Ticket Specification: Author highly detailed, "dev-ready" product tickets in our project management tools. You will translate complex user workflows into precise user stories backed by clear, unambiguous acceptance criteria for our development squad.
User Research & Analytical Impact Measurement
- User Discovery & Feedback: Validate core user problems and feature requests by conducting direct merchant interviews, performing user friction analysis, and evaluating behavioral heatmaps to drive product decisions.
- Impact Measurement & Iteration: Define clear baseline KPIs for every product initiative. You will conduct rigorous post-launch evaluations and analyze platform metrics to ensure all future product iterations are deeply data-driven.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Professional Experience & Industry Background
- Proven Track Record: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in digital product management, with at least 2 full years acting as a dedicated Product Manager or Product Owner holding direct, independent feature responsibility.
- E-Commerce Knowledge: Previous practical experience working within the Shopify ecosystem, e-commerce agencies, or modern B2B SaaS software environments is considered a significant advantage.
Methodological & Technical Competencies
- Data Analytics: High proficiency utilizing modern data and product analytics platforms (such as PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Tableau) to track user behavior, test hypotheses, and extract actionable insights.
