About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing, mission-driven professional services company operating at the intersection of language access, interpreting, consulting and managed services. With a strong reputation, loyal client base, and annual revenues of approximately $5–6 million, the company is entering its next phase of growth.

To support this expansion, they are seeking a General Manager to partner with the Founder to scale the business, strengthen commercial operations, and drive revenue growth toward $10 million and beyond.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced operator who can both develop strategy and execute. The ideal candidate has a track record of scaling teams and businesses, implementing operational best practices, and driving commercial growth within language services, interpreting, language access, or related professional services sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day business operations and organizational performance.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to support revenue expansion.
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams and future leaders.
  • Improve operational processes, accountability, and business efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology, AI, and innovation.
  • Support business development, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.
  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and conferences.


Requirements

Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years of leadership experience within language services, interpreting, language access, or related professional services industries.
  • Proven experience scaling a business, division, or operational function through a significant growth phase.
  • Experience working within larger organizations and applying best practices to smaller, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, including technology, AI, automation, and evolving service models.
  • Demonstrated success building teams, developing leaders, and driving organizational change.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong commercial and operational leadership capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Preferred

  • Experience beyond traditional translation services, particularly in interpreting, language access, or related service lines.
  • Experience serving healthcare, government, legal, financial services, or regulated industries.
  • Experience launching or expanding new services, business units, or growth initiatives.
  • Background in technology-enabled services, managed services, consulting, or BPO environments.
