GenAI Art Director (Hybrid)

Location: Los Angeles, CaliforniaJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $70 - 77 per hourWe are seeking a GenAI Art Director to bridge the gap between traditional agency creative teams (brand direction, marketing strategy, art direction) and technical post-production/VFX environments.In this role, you will concept, prompt, and build node architectures to generate photorealistic, believable visuals tailored for high-impact retail touchpoints (PDPs, online video, social, paid media, and in-store). You will combine deep photographic storytelling, color grading, and lighting logic with cutting-edge Generative AI workflows, LLM scripting, and Photoshop compositing to mass-produce commercial-grade assets without "AI aesthetics" or artifacts.This is a remote position that must be based in Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities:GenAI Execution & Visual Direction: Direct and execute complex, high-fidelity visual prompts and pipelines to generate photorealistic, human-centered assets that align with client's brand identity.Compositing & Retouching: Seamlessly blend raw AI outputs with real product photography, 3D elements, and brand assets inside Adobe Photoshop for final commercial delivery.Node Architecture & Pipeline Design: Build, optimize, and maintain node-based visual workflows (ComfyUI, Magnific-AI, Flora, ControlNets, LoRAs) to standardize high-resolution generation, upscaling, and style consistency.Photographic & VFX Storytelling: Apply camera mechanics, lighting logic, lensing, depth-of-field, and color grading to ensure generated visuals feel grounded in authentic, physical environments.Process Automation ("VibeCoding"): Utilize LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) and AI-assisted scripting to write automation scripts, prototype tools, and streamline repetitive creative studio workflows.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional post-production, tech, design, and supplier teams to translate creative briefs into scalable production workflows across fashion, beauty, home furnishings, and seasonal campaigns.AI Upskilling & Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of emerging GenAI model updates, upskilling internal creative pod members and mentoring designers on node workflows and prompt engineering.Qualifications:Experience: 2-3+ years of hands-on professional experience building and operating Generative AI pipelines, combined with 5+ years in Art Direction, Retouching, Compositing, or VFX/Studio Creative environments.Node-Based Architecture: High proficiency designing workflows in ComfyUI, Magnific-AI, Flora, or similar platforms (including ControlNets, custom model setups, and upscaling models).Creative Suite Mastery: Expert-level capability in Adobe Photoshop (multi-layer compositing, retouching, asset manipulation), Illustrator, and native Adobe AI tools.
