Some people think you can’t teach hands-on, practical trades online. We’re here to prove them wrong.
At The Workery, we’ve built a system that works. Clear lessons. Practical, real-world tasks. Expert feedback. Dedicated support. When you put those together, online learning starts to feel a lot more hands-on.
We started in France, supporting over 20,000 learners to master new crafts with an incredible 98% exam pass rate. Now, we are bringing our proven model to the UK to help a new generation of learners build real skills, change direction, and take their futures into their own hands.
To do that, we need the best in the business. We need a true expert who wants to share his knowledge.
As our Lead Furniture Making Trainer within our Learning Business Unit, you won’t just be lecturing from a script. You will be the architect of our UK Furniture Making course and the face of the program.
Your goal? To take complex, manual techniques and translate them into a digital curriculum that is clear, accessible, and highly practical. You will show aspiring professional furniture makers how to take their passion and turn it into a lifelong career.
Build and adapt the Path (Instructional Design): Structure a comprehensive, step-by-step learning journey. You’ll design the lessons, the practical tasks, and the assessments that prove our learners have got what it takes.
Step Up to the Camera (Content Production): Write the scripts and get in front of the camera. You'll perform live technical demonstrations, explaining the core mechanics of the craft with absolute clarity.
Command the Network (Expertise & Partnerships): Act as the ultimate furniture making authority for our pedagogical team. Build and manage a network of external assessors, suppliers, and trade partners to make our curriculum second to none.
This isn’t a role for theorists. We are looking for someone who has lived the trade, mastered the tools, and is ready to show others how to do the same.
This is for you if:
You know your craft inside out: You have at least 7 to 10 years of professional furniture-making experience under your belt, with an absolute mastery of UK market standards.
You are a natural trainer: You have experience lecturing or instructing, and you know how to break down complex techniques so they are simple to understand.
You possess the Coach’s mindset: You are patient, encouraging, and clear. You know when to support a learner and when to push them to sharpen their technique.
You are ready for change: You want to apply your hard-earned trade skills in a modern, innovative way and are comfortable working with digital tools.
You speak the language: You are completely fluent in English and possess excellent communication skills.
