We’re focused on equipping our fundraising teams with the data-backed strategy and insights they need to operate intelligently and efficiently, and are looking for a Fundraising Analyst with a diverse range of backgrounds and skill sets to help us tackle numerous projects. Whether you have a for-profit background in Analytics Engineering with an analytical mindset or you’ve worked in political or non-profit fundraising before, we’d love to talk to you. 


Good candidates are extremely detail-oriented while able to move quickly to respond to events or stakeholder needs without sacrificing quality. On a day-to-day basis, our team cares about things like designing tools and reports to enable smarter decision-making, and optimizing messaging and targeting across channels and audiences, to name a few.

Among other things, core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Strategic Analysis: Perform analysis to understand trends in engagement, areas of program strength, and opportunities for improvement; turn this analysis into actionable insights to optimize where we are focused over time.
  • Orchestrate Pipelines: Manage finance data synced from multiple platforms, create data structures that aggregate and standardize fundraising data for analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain Models: Run and validate fundraising models produced by Data Science team

In addition, this role may also include:

  • Lead Experimental Design: Recommend and design experiments to optimize fundraising efforts including, but not limited to, A/B testing on digital campaigns and to direct mail audiences. 
  • Reporting: Build and maintain automated reporting to empower our team with key insights into program performance. Work with engineering teams to consult on data products that can be used to streamline reporting code.
  • Automation: Work with Tech Team stakeholders to develop products that streamline repetitive processes, such as targeting, universe development, and list movement between tools; consult on data products that can be used to streamline reporting code and other system automation.
  • Ad Hoc Work: Manage ad hoc data requests from stakeholders, ensuring quick turnaround while maintaining data accuracy and quality.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • You write clean, well-organized SQL and know how to structure reusable data pipelines.
  • You’ve worked with large, complex datasets—especially those that weren’t tidy to begin with.
  • You enjoy building things with others, not just for them, and believe the best products come from thoughtful partnerships.
  • You’ve used tools like dbt or Airflow to build and maintain production workflows. These could include tools like Dagster, Databricks, AWS Glue, or Dataform. 
  • You’re comfortable with the Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and GCS.
  • You can explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and non-technical collaborators.
  • You’ve worked in fast-paced environments where priorities shift quickly.
  • You’ve spent time on a campaign or you've worked with political data before.

Additional useful skills and qualifications:

  • You have experience working with political data like state voter files, election results, or data on voter, volunteer, or donor engagement.
  • You have direct experience with voter databases and outreach software such as VAN/ Votebuilder, Scale to Win, or Reach.
  • You have an understanding of how to (and how not to) use predictive modeling, such as Turnout and Support scores.


Salary:

The salary for the Data Analyst position is $84,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.


This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends, and is fully remote. This position is in the bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local-500.
