Accountable for the delivery of a cluster of funds within the Energy Redress scheme, overseeing fund allocation and project impact. Leads a team of Development Officers to support energy justice and mitigate climate change.

Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The role

  • This role will be accountable for the successful delivery of a cluster of the funds that make up the Energy Redress scheme. Working to the Programme Manager you will manage a team of Development Officers who work on the funds, acting as “critical friends” to applicants and grantees of the scheme and manage delivery of projects.

  • You will oversee the successful allocation of funds against key scheme priorities and then the delivery of the projects which are funded, with a focus on ensuring the funds deliver meaningful impact. This will include ensuring that fund allocation targets are achieved and that the impact of and insight from funded projects is captured.

  • The role will work on the Energy Redress scheme which has delivered over £250 million of funding to the voluntary sector over the last eight years. This supports Energy Saving Trust’s mission through supporting national, regional and grass-roots action on energy justice and mitigating climate change. There will also be opportunities to be involved with other projects that will benefit from your skills.

The team

  • Based in our Renewables, Transport and Decarbonisation team, the role will work on a transformative major grant scheme supporting non-profit organisations across England, Scotland, and Wales. The focus of the scheme is to help people struggling with their energy bills, reduce carbon emissions and stimulate innovation on energy issues.

  • This will be a leadership role in a collaborative, inclusive, diverse and supportive team working together to help grant funding achieve the maximum positive impact to address the cost of living and climate crises.

  • This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for people struggling to get by, as well as tackling climate change.

What you will do

  • Think strategically to oversee the allocation of grants under your funds, ensuring that funding targets are delivered through projects that will deliver real impact against fund priorities.

  • Oversee the delivery of those projects, monitoring performance and capturing insight and impact through your team of Development Officers.

  • Lead a team of Development Officers and collaborate with scheme management and administration staff to deliver our shared goal of supporting action on energy justice and tackling climate change.

  • Ensure consistency and compliance with scheme rules across our funds.

  • Drive continuous improvement of your funds and across the wider scheme.

What you will bring

  • Experience of leadership and strategic thinking in grant funding or programme delivery.

  • Experience of managing grant or programme finances.

  • Experience of monitoring and delivering continuous improvement.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including at senior level.

  • Understanding of and commitment to our mission.
