Are you looking for an entry-level work-from-home career that offers more than simply answering customer questions?
AO is seeking motivated, people-focused professionals to join our virtual team as Entry-Level Customer Service Representatives with opportunities to develop toward training, mentorship, and leadership responsibilities.
You'll begin by learning how to work directly with individuals and families, understand their needs, explain available benefits, assist with enrollment, and provide ongoing client support. As you gain experience and demonstrate consistent performance, you'll have opportunities to develop the communication, coaching, and leadership skills needed for advancement.
No previous insurance or management experience is required.
As an Entry-Level CSR Representative, your first priority is learning how to provide an exceptional client experience.
Meet with clients through scheduled Zoom and phone appointments
Connect with individuals and families interested in learning about available benefits
Listen to client needs and answer questions professionally
Explain available life, accident, and supplemental health insurance options
Help clients understand coverage and benefit information
Assist eligible clients through applications and enrollment
Provide ongoing follow-up and policy-related customer service
Assist with applicable policy reviews and beneficiary updates
Maintain accurate digital client records and documentation
Build long-term relationships through professionalism, communication, and consistent service
This role combines customer service, benefits education, relationship management, and consultative insurance sales.
You don't need to walk in as an experienced manager.
You'll first learn the business, develop your client-service skills, and demonstrate your ability to produce consistent results.
Representatives who show strong performance, initiative, professionalism, and leadership potential may begin developing skills in:
Mentoring newer representatives
New-team-member onboarding
Coaching and professional development
Goal setting and accountability
Virtual training and workshops
Team communication
Performance development
Recruiting and team building
Leadership and management
CSR Representative → Benefits Specialist → Trainer/Mentor → Team Leader → Management
Advancement is earned through performance, consistency, development, and demonstrated leadership ability—not simply tenure.
Starting something new can be challenging, which is why you're not expected to figure everything out alone.
Training and development may include:
Structured virtual onboarding
Insurance licensing guidance
Product and benefits education
Customer service training
Consultative sales development
Virtual presentation skills
Communication and relationship-building
Enrollment systems and procedures
Weekly coaching
One-on-one mentorship
Leadership development
Ongoing professional education
We value coachability, work ethic, professionalism, and willingness to learn over previous industry experience.
Representatives connect with qualified client opportunities, including individuals and families interested in learning about available benefits.
That means you can focus on:
Understanding client needs
Conducting benefit consultations
Educating families
Building relationships
Assisting with enrollment
Providing ongoing client service
No purchasing leads and no traditional cold calling.
Your client appointments, training, coaching, and team meetings are conducted virtually.
Enjoy the opportunity to:
Work remotely within the United States
Eliminate the daily commute
Conduct appointments through Zoom and phone
Participate in virtual coaching and training
Collaborate with teammates online
Develop your career from home
Build greater flexibility into your professional life
Successful remote representatives are self-motivated, organized, accountable, and consistent with their schedules.
This is a commission-based independent contractor opportunity, not an hourly or salaried CSR position.
Compensation opportunities may include:
Weekly commission payments
Performance-based bonuses
Renewal and residual income opportunities
Leadership compensation as you advance
Recognition incentives
Additional performance-based rewards
There is no predetermined earnings ceiling on commission-based production.
Actual earnings vary based on individual activity, production, consistency, and results and are not guaranteed.
You do not need an insurance license to submit an application.
Because representatives discuss and enroll clients in insurance products, candidates must obtain the appropriate state Life & Health Insurance License before performing activities requiring licensure.
Licensing guidance and training support are provided.
Qualifying representatives may have access to:
Medical insurance reimbursement opportunities
Company-supported life insurance
Accidental Death Benefit coverage
Union representation and professional support
Renewal and residual income opportunities
Professional development programs
Leadership coaching and mentorship
Virtual technology and business resources
Eligibility and qualification requirements may apply.
Strong performance may create opportunities to qualify for additional recognition and incentives, including:
Company-sponsored incentive travel
Leadership conferences
Professional development events
Team recognition programs
Performance contests and awards
Technology and productivity rewards
Additional leadership opportunities
Past incentive programs have included travel experiences and other performance-based prizes.
All incentives are subject to applicable program requirements and qualification criteria.

Interested in continuous professional development
Motivated by opportunities to grow into leadership
Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, administration, banking, call centers, military service, recruiting, client relations, sales, or management can be helpful—but is not required.
