Full Stack Developer

Locations: Indiana, IN / Chicago, IL (Remote)

About the Role

The Skyline team builds SS&C's property management platform - leases, properties, accounting, payments and client reporting - for customers in SS&C's Insurance, Loan and Property business. We are hiring a Full Stack Developer to take on data transformation and full-stack feature work across a NestJS/GraphQL backend and an Angular 18 frontend. You will build the pipelines that move data from MongoDB into the SQL models behind our analytics and client-facing reports, and the services and screens that make that data usable. This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership of design and delivery, not ticket execution.

How You Will Make an Impact 

• Build and maintain full-stack features spanning our NestJS/GraphQL backend and Angular 18 frontend
• Design and extend data transformation pipelines (MongoDB to SQL, using dbt) that feed reporting and analytics
• Work across microservice boundaries - service design, API contracts and data modeling
• Contribute to Kubernetes-deployed, cloud-native infrastructure (Helm-based deploys) alongside DevOps
• Investigate and root-cause data integrity issues in production and nonprod environments
• Participate in architecture discussions and raise design and scalability concerns proactively - we want engineers who ask whether a design will hold at scale before it ships
• Pair with QA and product to close defects with an end-to-end fix rather than a symptom patch

Required Experience

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience (10+ preferred), with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• Strong backend experience with Node.js/NestJS, or comparable experience (.NET Core, Go) and a clear path to NestJS
• Frontend experience with Angular (Angular 7 or later)
• MongoDB or another document store, plus demonstrated comfort moving data into relational/SQL models
• Microservice architecture and REST/GraphQL API design, plus Kubernetes and containerized deployment experience
• Security implementation in application code - authentication, permissions and data handling - and ownership of a problem end to end: design, build, test, deploy, support
• Hands-on daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor): writing specs and prompts, directing an agent through multi-step changes, and critically reviewing its output for correctness, security and team conventions before it ships

What Sets You Apart (preferred qualifications)

• dbt experience - the team is moving MongoDB data into SQL models with it today
• Angular 18 and Nx monorepo experience
• Kubernetes certification such as CKAD
• GraphQL specifically, as opposed to plain REST
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Helm chart authoring
• A track record of root-causing production data integrity issues
• Prior work in property management, financial services or another regulated, data-heavy domain

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

Illinois: The expected base salary for the position is between 115,000 USD to 130,000 USD.

 

 

In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
