Description
Ben Lalez is one of Chicago's most recognisable real estate creators, and the content operation is scaling fast.
Property tours, luxury walkthroughs, lifestyle content, and now full documentary-style productions inspired by The Bear and Owning Manhattan.
This isn't an "edit what you're told" role.
Ben needs a creative operator who can take raw footage and independently turn it into content worth watching, with the judgement to know what lands, where the hook sits, and how to make every piece work harder.
The Role
What you’ll own:
Video Editing & Production
- Edit short-form and long-form video content
- Create polished social media content from raw footage
- Build engaging openings and hooks
- Add captions, graphics, music, transitions, and visual effects where appropriate
- Optimise content for audience retention and engagement
Content Repurposing
- Turn one filming session into multiple pieces of content
- Identify clips, highlights and key moments
- Create multiple content assets from longer recordings
- Maximise content output from available footage
Documentary & Storytelling Content
- Review documentary-style and long-form footage
- Identify compelling stories and moments
- Create trailers, teasers and supporting content
- Produce social assets from larger productions
- Help maximise the value of professional filming investments
Creative Ownership
- Make independent editing decisions
- Recommend improvements to content structure
- Continuously improve editing quality
- Stay current with content and editing trends
- Bring ideas and suggestions rather than simply waiting for instructions
Workflow Management
- Organise footage and project files
- Manage content production workflow
- Ensure content is delivered on time
- Help create a repeatable content production process
The Person
Who we’re looking for:
Essential
- Strong portfolio of social media content
- Experience editing creator-led content or personal brand content
- Experience taking projects from raw footage through to finished asset
- Strong understanding of audience retention and content pacing
Technical Skills
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve
- Motion graphics and text animation
- Audio editing
- Caption creation
- Social media content optimisation
Strong Advantage
- Experience working with real estate content
