Freelance IT Project Manager (AWS, Cloud & AI Projects)

The Role

We are looking for experienced freelance IT Project Managers to join our extended delivery team on a project-by-project basis. You will lead customer-facing AWS-focused engagements ranging from short-term assessments and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to multi-month MVP, cloud migration, modernization, and AI initiatives. Project duration can vary from a few weeks to several months. New contractors typically start with smaller engagements before taking ownership of larger and more complex projects. As a Project Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, delivery teams, and stakeholders, ensuring successful execution, proactive risk management, and high customer satisfaction throughout the engagement lifecycle.

You will do

• Own the delivery of AWS, cloud transformation, AI/ML, and application modernization projects.

• Manage project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.

• Facilitate project ceremonies, planning sessions, status reviews, and steering meetings.

• Drive proactive risk identification and resolution.

• Monitor project health and implement recovery plans when necessary.

• Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction.

• Coordinate cross-functional and distributed delivery teams.

• Support AWS-funded initiatives, including MAP migration projects where applicable.

You will bring

• 5+ years of IT Project Management experience.

• Experience delivering software, cloud, infrastructure, or digital transformation projects.

• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in consulting, professional services, or agency environments.

• Practical experience with Agile delivery methodologies.

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• Experience working with globally distributed teams.

Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with productivity tools such as Coda, Notion, Confluence

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar, certifications from Scrum.org or Scrum Alliance would be a distinct advantage.

• Understanding of cloud technologies and their application in project management.

• Experience in a software development agency, bringing valuable insights into efficient client-centric project management.
