The Forward Deployed Engineer acts as the technical face of the company, bridging platform capabilities with client needs through technical discovery and tailored demonstrations. They are responsible for leading pre-sales engagements, building prototypes, and feeding field insights back to the product team.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you will be the technical face of our organization at the client site, bridging the gap between our platform capabilities and the complex, real-world problems our customers face. You will lead technical discovery sessions, architect and deliver compelling pre-sales demonstrations, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle. What you will bring to Rayn as a Forward Deployed Engineer
- Design and deliver tailored technical demos and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements that map our solutions directly to client business outcomes.
- Partner with Account Executives throughout the pre-sales cycle from initial discovery through technical close, acting as the subject matter expert.
- Lead technical discovery workshops to deeply understand client environments, pain points, integration requirements, and success criteria.
- Build custom demo environments, scripts, and prototypes that showcase platform value in the context of each prospect's use case.
- Build, iterate, and ship frontend flows and interactive demos at high speed.
- Respond to technical sections of RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with accuracy and speed.
- Capture and synthesize field insights, feeding product gaps, feature requests, and competitive intelligence back to Product and Engineering teams.
- Take ownership of features end-to-end, while often building from scratch with ambiguous requirements
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with client stakeholders including architects, developers, and IT leadership.
- Develop user guides and conduct training sessions for employees on IT systems and best practices. Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical end-users.
Who We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver high-impact technical demonstrations to mixed audiences including technical and executive stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in backend languages (Python, Java, or Node.js) and comfort working with APIs, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, applied AI workflows, automation, and emerging AI use cases, with the ability to understand how AI can improve client operations, decision-making, and product outcomes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and familiarity with common enterprise tech stacks.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, you can make complex ideas crisp and compelling.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity; you're self-directed and energized by working across multiple clients and use cases simultaneously.
